Can AIP reduction be wasted?

So I've heard the AIP reduction from Data Centers (no one ever mentioned other AIP reducers) wont be wasted even if you're @ AIP floor.
If AIP floor is 50 and I destroy a Data Center which reduces the AIP by 10. The AIP would stay at 50. If I then destroy a Command Center and the Warp Gate with it (+20 AIP) the AIP would be increased by 10 right?
Do Co-Processors and Super Terminals work like that too?

All forms of AIP reduction cannot be wasted.

This occurs because AIP reduction does not directly decrease from AIP but instead goes into an AIP reduction stat, that is subtracted from the actual AIP to make the effective AIP.

Yes. All AIP increases increase the [Total AIP] stat.

All AIP reductions increase the [AIP Reduction] stat.

[Effective AIP] is [Total AIP] - [AIP Redution].

Unless you hit the [AIP Floor], which is a percentage of [Total AIP].

Below difficulty 8, the floor is [Total AIP] /5.
Diff 8 = [Total AIP] / 4
Diff 9+ = [Total AIP] / 3

And AIP can never be lower then 10, so no popping a data center early to get an AIP of 1 anymore.

AIP was revamped back in patch 5.046.

So, no, AIP reduction is never wasted. But if your AIP is already 30 below your floor, capturing a system will still leave you 10 below your floor so there are circumstances where there is no immediate gain.

Correct, AIP reduction cannot be wasted.

It can fail to provide immediate gain, but you haven't lost it.

I asked this too a while back and the same answer. There is generally never any reason to wait with AIP reduction (sans SuperTerminal).
