AI War Beta 4.044 Released!

This one is a smallish bugfix update.  Though, it does also include some wicked-awesome new galaxy map filters for finding critical stuff on the map.  Seriously, I don't know why those were never in there before now.  Anyway... enjoy!

This is a standard update that you can download through the in-game updater itself, if you already have 4.000 or later. When you launch the game, you'll see the notice of the update having been found if you're connected to the Internet at the time.  If you don't have 4.000 or later, you can download that here.

I wanted this one out quick, mainly because of the seeding issues with the core shield generators.  But, the new filters make it pretty worthwhile with trying to strategize against those (and asteroids, etc) as well, heh.

I'm getting a relatively minor graphics bug since 4.043 or 44. When there's a cluster of units and I scroll the screen, they sorta wobble around. This only happens when their sprites are partially on top of each other.

When I destroy the D-Secondary Core Shield Generator I wanted (on Casi), the other one (on Vuwa) does not self-destruct. Could this be a bug due to my game having started before the generators were added?

Also: is this the sort of things I should rather use Mantis for?

That would pretty much be a Mantis issue, yeah. Any bugs, suggestions or similar stuff ends up there. General technical support or questions about the game or uncertainty if something is a bug or a feature, you use the forums.

I've got a confirmation of that from a fresh game start as well. This is pretty much completely game breaking, isn't it?

Just read up on the last few beta patches and its all good stuff. But how much longer till an official patch?

Just read up on the last few beta patches and its all good stuff. But how much longer till an official patch?

Sometime in January -- not until Light of the Spire hits.  We've still got a lot of open items in the idea tracker, anyway, but it's definitely getting more towards release quality.  We'll be there in time for January, for sure. :)

I'm a tad bit confused about this;
Does this mean that currently the AI (and more specifically hybrids) can not build forcefields other than the ones that had spawned on the planet to begin with?

They now cannot build anything, that's what it refers to.
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.
