Tweak to the upper limit of the showdown device?

I think this picture says a lot here alone. To put this in perspective. I loaded the save before I activate both. Did showdown, saw that it sent that much by it self. Did the Exo trans, a lot smaller. Let the Exo Fleet get to just outside of the homeworld and kicked off the Showdown again.

They were quite solidly blown back 7 planets right now, and I am going to see if they can stay alive long enough to keep the AI off the showdown device worlds.

In about 3 minutes, I got

Considering each of those mini-waves is large then the Force the AI builds up for when the Fallen Spire fleet shows up on it homeworld. I agree.

I can't even make it to the final exo wave. The AI groups of thousands of Hunter killers is too much even for The Exo fallen spire fleet that started outside of their homeworld. They blow past any defences I set up and pop the closest Showdown device world in about 12 minutes. Then head right to my homeworld to blow it up.

A Exo Spire wave comes up on it and just disappears.  If they did anything to the Hunter Killer legions, I could not see it.

Game over.

Each wave has about 200 hunter killers and 140 Motherships, including other ships. These come every 60 seconds.

Sadly, They are immune to nukes.

I think this what this means is that Imperial Spire need a Mk25 mothership-sized buff. Something along the lines of devourer immunities...

It must be really hard to balance something like Showdown Devices when you don't know in advance whether the player will have Golems, Spirecraft, and/or Fallen Spire capital ships. Kieth's solution was to ramp up the SD difficulty if Golems are on, again if Spirecraft are on, and again for each Spire city; creating a sort of rubber-band AI effect.

Ok, so it seems Fallen Spire stuff creates a more-than-usually insane Showdown response. Has anyone tried Showdown without any superweapons at all? No golems, no spirecraft, no FS? It may just be that the bonus the Showdown response gets for Fallen Spire is too large.

Yeah, back during the beta I tried the SD a bunch of times.  When you play with no superweapons, or with only 1 active, the Showdown can be difficult, but it is entirely reasonable.  You just need to prepare.  The Final Exo is the only one that even might include an H/K at that level, and the smaller ones might not even include Golems.  Yeah, quick check says the Final Exowave in a no-superweapons game was 150,000 points.  Not 90,000,000.
FS seems to be the unbalancing factor more than anything else.  114 systems worth of FS?  Yeah, crazy multipliers there.

Did you try cheating?  Spawning a few thousand Golems + Spire Rams + SuperForts might help you live long enough to get to the Final Exowave.  I'm really curious, since I think that should end up being 10 times the points of the small Exowave.  The Large Exowave is 2x, I think.  In any case, I'm pretty sure you'll end up with more Motherships than fleetships in that galaxy.

You forgot the final constant though, the not one but two nuking super motherships.

I wonder how it is even possible to wreck them with no superweapons. It is hard enough wrecking motherships with a basic spire capital fleet.

I'd been wondering about that point on the GCS's myself- especially on lower difficulties. Perhaps they need to go modular, so their own strength can be scaled as well as their escorts, without taking away from the awesome power they should have on higher difficulty.

You can paste the line repeatedly as far as i know. :P
