Community DLC Suggestion Poll Nominations: Week of 3/28/10

Here are the simple rules for Nomination week:

- One nomination per user, per week!
- Include the URL to the nominated suggestion topic in your post.
- You can change your nomination later in the week if you like.
- You may re-nominate a suggestion from a previous poll*.

Please format your nomination like this:
(nomination name) - (nomination URL) (user name)


Nominations will be compiled into the next poll on the 4th.

*If re-nominating a suggestion from a previous week, there are no restrictions on doing so, but you should keep the results in mind when making your selection.

Important info: The nominations that receive high amounts of votes will receive higher consideration to be DLC in the near future. If a particular piece of content is likely to be out-of-scope for the near future, it will be kept on a list of content we would like to see in the next expansion (Q4 '10). Please note that we may not know whether or not a suggestion will need to be shelved until after the voting.  Also bear in mind that this is Chris/x4000's game and inclusion of any content is ultimately his decision!

It might be a bit minor (seems pretty similar to crystal/metalfacturies in terms of logic, albiet with priortization for lowest possible crystal usage), but not having to juggle which reactors are paused vs running would be nice.

     Auto-rebuild is SO fantastic for worlds where combat is frequent, but a horrible drain behind the front lines.  You can already build more than one of them but that only amplifies the problem; per-planet versions would make that stacking actually useful!  I wants it.

Maybe instead of per planet control nodes for engineers and RR units a new shielded mobile fleet support unit like a rally point or MRS type specialized for engineer drones could be created to work with or instead of current control nodes.

Possible implementations :
  • deploy as many Engineer "control/fabricator units" to a system as you want engineers in that system. similar Ctrl/fab unit for RR's (both of these would be like rally points).  ok this is very similar to Velox except as moble units they could travel with your fleet automaticaly spauning and maintaining the # and type of engineers as they move into a system. As a support ship C/fab units make sense as engies don't spring out of nothing into existance in a hostile system. Human controlled systems make them at the com station so why not a fleet support ship(s) to make and maintain the engie drone population -- could be extended to include the cleanup drones as well --
