Trillion ship CPA

Last night I dreamed about AI War... :o It was a very short dream. More like a screenshot ::) I think I had something like 1000 AIP and there was a CPA coming with "1 Trillion Ships". When I saw the CPA announcement I was like what the hell?? And then the dream ended.
What the hell?? ???

I forget what the record is, but iirc someone once posted a screenshot of an incoming set of waves with a total size in the vicinity of 10 million.

That was before carriers. 

The application did not survive wave launch.

That was when we added carriers.

So the 17 million ships...
Did the game actually send the attack, or did the 17 million ships bring down the game engine first? I get the feeling I already know the answer.

Oh, it sent the attack.  I think he had to wait 20 minutes or so before the ships appeared (after the game counted down to 0 seconds remaining), though, and then the game crashed shortly after that.

And this was a wave, not a CPA.

Wouldn't a CPA of that size mostly fail to materialize? CPAs don't spawn new ships if there's not enough in the galaxy, right?

You can see the amount of AI ships in "Stats" --> "Galaxy Stats":
"Your Ships: 3029"
"Allied Ships: 39"
"Enemy Ships: 7439"
Since I have that many "ships" I assume "ships" also means turrets and buildings? Also I checked those numbers at the start of the game and "Enemy Ships" was something like 10k or 12k. I guess destroying Barracks lowered that number.

Since "Enemy Ships" = 7439 does this mean max CPA size would be a bit less than 7439 ships? I mean AI never sends ALL ships. Right? :-X

EDIT: I set Filter to "My Units" and calculated the amount of units and I got 3029. So that number does include ships, buildings and everything. That makes me wonder how many SHIPS the AI really has.. cause the AI has 72 planets (I have 7). So there's a LOT of guard posts, Hybrid Facilites and other buildings. There's literally 3 Barracks left in the galaxy.

Core CPA Guard Post sent ~1600 ships.

EDIT: A "normal" CPA was just announced and it has 8879 ships. According to the Stats there's now 8880 AI ships in the galaxy.. hmm interesting.
