I was wondering if anybody else found combat to be a little too fast in 4.0 when using the 'normal' speed setting? Between the 2x movespeed of human units (I really dont like this, it was a novelty when using logistic stations and now it just feels like a huge advantage that I dont appreciate) and the much higher DPS of units, every unit and structure can be killed within a second by a moderate blob of 200+
this translates to attacking an AI world essentally being a que of attack orders on each gaurdpost & gaurdian, each of which instantly evaporates when my ships pass- they dont even have to slow down- and this is only a small group!
waves are often defeated within 20 seconds of their arrival and combats between individual units even are blurringly fast. the extremely fast movespeed of friendly units means that queing orders to pass through multiple systems is difficult because by the time you have qued 1 or 2 systems, the ships have left the system and must be reselected.
human MK 1 FF go down instantly to midsized bomber waves, literally in one salvo. AI FF take a small fraction of the time to destroy as they did in 3.0.
I know if I dont like it I just just play on 4x mode
just wondered how you guys felt about it
