Here's the trick though. Those ships that you steal with that hacking are ships the AI will always have. You can never get rid of them if you hack to steal them. So, you'd better be good at dealing with the Artillerist's ships if you intend to steal them.

Yea, the ability to steal (or corrupt) does add a bit of a silver lining to some types like Zenith Descendant or Spireling, but it's definitely doesn't make it into "I know, I'll play against an Everything for an easy game!" ;)

There's an interesting catch-22 with playing against Everything. You do that on a 10 planet map, you can get like 20 new ship types for one easy hack. The thing is, you will never be hacking again after that and you will never have the knowledge to actually upgrade your ships.

Of course. Moreover, if there are, say, 3 sniper-types and 3 gravity-vulnerable types you're up against, I think it's cheaper to spend regular K unlocking (1) Riot-III for gravs and keep sufficient number of scouts-starships. You can then be both immune and able to out-artillery an average AI planet.

If the AI HW's have multiple Core Raid Engines, even two or three minutes won't be enough.
But otherwise, yeah, unlock Mk II of everything, and just swarm.  Toss in a few (dozen) warheads and it's just fireworks for your Cheese Festival.

Hmm, seems like some lightning warheads would take care of the initial waves long enough to assassinate the engine, but I can see how the overall situation would be untenable :)

Well, I didn't die, but I had like a lot of ships attacking me before I could even build anything. It's one of those "Okay, gg" situations.
