Hmm, thank you for reminding me of that, that's a good point. 

Looking at the code, the following have AOE immunity:
Scout Starship
Raid Starship
Riot Starship
Spirecraft Scout
Missile Frigate
Scouts
Cleanup Drones
Transports

So basically the only unit that you really care about them shooting that they can't shoot now is the Raid Starship (I'm assuming the few times the AI can get Riots doesn't really bother you much, and you can still target their forcefields).  That's an owie, and I'll need to fix that for next week, but I don't think it will keep the unit from being useful for now.  I believe Chris is already in the process of doing the release and it would probably take me a couple hours to rejigger the game into being ok with being able to directly fire on an aoe-immune unit, etc.

Hmm, thank you for reminding me of that, that's a good point.

Yea, Plasma Sieges losing the ability to hit Raid Starships will hurt, but not that huge of a deal. Raids are so fast, and have radar dampening, that the Plasma Siege would probably get only like one shot in before the Raid is out of range and totally outrunning it.
