Also what's with the "Error 520 Web server is returning an unknown error"? I get that once in a while when visiting this forum. Has to make this thread twice because of that.

Speaking of minefields, any chance the old, pre-unity Building Pattern save-load function will return?

Sigh, line place *shakes fist*.  I probably need to put in some kind of special case for "just put the stupid thing there, and no I don't care if it overlaps other mines placed during the same operation", as predicting exactly what distance is needed at a given angle is proving unfruitful.

That's probably Rackspace Cloud (the hosting service) getting a little queasy.  Thus transforming from a cloud of processing power to the sort of cloud that comes from a rotting cow.  Doesn't seem to happen very often, but it tends to come in clumps.

There's certainly a chance.  "When" is another question I don't know the answer to.  It had to come out earlier because it just didn't save/load properly.

That would be good.  Yeah.

Also, I've run into an issue? where the line will be green and clicking won't place anything (offscreen collission?) generally occurs when I'm placing multiple lines next to each other, I'll zoom in close on the center so I can place them as close together as possible and it always happens that I'll place the second, third, and fourth just fine, then when I take my finger off the "shift" key the 5th one will fail and I won't have the line preset any more (as such I've gotten into the habit of holding the shift key until all five are done, then right-clicking to clear it).

What is the lineplacing tool, and how does one use it? I've rarely used mines, given that I have a lot of other tools usually and thus don't need them, but this new buff to FS exos has me... concerned.

Select any building,  alt-right click,  line place,  click on map twice to make the line,  pick settings,  click to place stuff.

I'm now saving before trying to do work with Lineplace as it's faster/easier to reload and try again than to fill in the gaps manually.  I would also appreciate it if this got fixed for mines which are the only things I ever use line placement for.

Or an alt-rightclick tutorial in general.
Lots of things that may or maynot be useful in there. auto-explore, auto-picket, ,line place mines.

Autogather can be buggy for me. They'll just sit on the otherside of the galaxy because they aren't close enough to notice the new planets sometimes.
