Local Achievements Oddity
« on: January 15, 2010, 04:57:40 pm »
Before I even consider writing up a bug report post I need to know if anyone else is seeing this, or if I may have an issue w/ my save data files:

Since 3.0 update came out, I have noticed that every time I open a save game my achievements re-unlock themselves.

For example, I unlocked the 2 planets, 5 planets, and 50k energy in my very first game a while back - but now every time I load a save game I see those achievements unlock again as if I had just achieved them (assuming I have the right # of planets/energy/etc). I am pretty sure that achievements are a 'one of' thing that you unlock globally no matter the game you are playing right?

For the record - this happens with brand new games when hitting those milestones as well. My steam achievments are unaffected - they stay unlocked once I complete them.

Anyone else seeing this or is it possible I have a problem with my save data files?

Yep, someone else had noticed it.  I'm going to take a look at it for the next beta version.

Found this thread http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,3184.0.html in Tech Support - I guess from some of the replies that it is WAI. The constant pop-ups for achievments (local at least) is a little annoying :/ - I thought the fix for steam submission would be 'invisible'.

Ah well, I can live with it so I guess this post can be relegated to not important.

(As I posted this X replied:

Thanks X - I think its just a matter of the message keeping on coming up. Just checked my local achievment record and the dates seem to be ok - it just has the game sending the unlock message constantly, maybe a check for if the achievment is opened locally and suppressing the text if it is when the steam 'force' submission goes on?)
