Super massive bug and Site was unreachable

Ok, this is a one of a kind bug report

- Site was unreachable for nearly 4 hours ~.~ DNS Error
(aside that) ;p  ;D (Not the bug report ;p)

There is no crash, this one is bad  :'(
It happens when you attack with a force of 1600+ ships a Core Command Station

- What happens in the save

Once you load this save frame rate drops to 0 and 1 tick takes over 1 second to pass (in some cases up to 4 10 seconds delay between 2 ticks)

The Core Command Station emits some kind of weapon fire, and freezes the entire game to a grinding halt which happens EVERYTIME my ships fire. (i don't know if i actually managed to stop the fire sequence in this save. I Assume this is some sort of anti-missile weapon, i have a lot of MRLS and Cruisers (like, 40% of my fleet .)

CPU Usage cross all 1 or 2 cores skyrockets to 100% (I am on a quad core so i can still save and do stuff even if it grinds to a halt ,)

The game does not crash though, it just runs very very very very slowly (like 1 frame in 4 seconds, slowly! ,p) This is reproducable, if you manage to zoom on the core station (top left section of the map) you can see that everytime my ships fire a salvo the station emits some kind of effect and the game grinds to a halt

The site being unavailable was some sort of problem in the datacenter that hosts our server.  The site was up, but some network issues were making it unavailable.  I'm following up with the hosting company.

For the bug, thanks for reporting that -- I'm looking into it now and should hopefully have a fix shortly.

EDIT:  I can duplicate the bug, though I have not yet fixed it.  The counter-shooters are spawning tens of thousands of excess shots (65,000 shots in this case).  The core command station has counter-missile shots, so targeting the cruisers directly on them is what causes this.

;D Well this is my first game after patch 1.09 where i got a really good going start (well against dif 5 and with 100% boost heh)

Probably exaggerated in the title but i guess that i must be the first to ever do this kind of combo and surrounding of the station with that many missile ships heh, this is the first game ever where i maxed out the fleet limit too ;/

Sadly with scorched earth ai there is no way to get any other adv research labs capped (is that intentional?)

The problem was actually the combination of the MLRS ships and the cruisers, mostly the MLRS ships.  I guess you are the first person to surround the AI station with those and to tell them all to attack.  Or something has changed in the more recent versions that let this slow down so much, or something.

I went back and forth on this, and if you had asked me I couldn't tell you what I had settled on.  But I guess I settled on having them not be invulnerable to that, apparently.
