Interviewer John Oliver: In a recent op-ed column you said, and I quote, "Success in creating artificial intelligence would be the biggest event in human history.  Unfortunately, it might also be the last."  Are you saying that robots are going to destroy humanity? [...]

Super-smart guy Stephen Hawking: Artificial intelligence could be a real danger in the not-too-distant future.  It could design improvements to itself and outsmart us all.

Oliver: I know you're trying to get people to be cautious there, but why should I not be excited about fighting a robot?

Hawking: You would lose.

Eh, what Hawking is talking about is when it actually reach Singularity...self-modifying intelligence can be a BIG deal...especially when we can't predict how it'll react to us...

...or maybe we'll turn ourselves into said self-modifying intelligence(s)...transhumanism, ahoy!

I wonder whether Hawking would consider changing his pronunciation software, or has the voice grown on him.
