The piano rendition of the the menu theme is awesome. I'm such a sucker for piano tracks.

I'll have to listen through the rest of this right way, but colour me impressed already.

Pablo will be very pleased!  If you keep listening as the main menu track goes along, it starts blending with the "Zenith Remnant theme," in addition to the base "AI War theme."  For a while it plays both of them intermingled, a feat that I find... mathematically impressive, as well as aurally pleasing.  Then it just goes full-blown Zenith theme for a little while.  There's a fuller rendition of the Zenith theme in the actual in-game music itself, which I find endlessly catchy.  My favorite is definitely Fire and Iron, though, which starts out moody and almost a bit ambient, and which then suddenly goes into full-blow "Phantom of the Opera" type of mode with an organ that about gives me a heart attack every time.  My great hope is that Pablo will get a lot more well deserved recognition for his work in the expansion, as I think it was overlooked by too many reviewers in the base game.  But, that's my biased opinion, of course.

Congratulations on the birth of the 300 pound gorilla! Now to buy some protective padding so that I don't get beat up too much! The Arcen team did a masterful job on this release and it will have us all playing intently for a good deal of time to come! Bravo! *Claps*

Seems like Steam may be late to the Bandwagon - 1430 Eastern here (1130 Pacific) and no update via Steam as of yet. They don't even have the expansion in the store catalogue yet. Guessing this will be an early afternoon/mid afternoon Steam update/release.

Many thanks!  That's not too shabby, there, too, with the data.  We tend to do about 200gb/month here at this point, but that's largely because people mostly get the major updates from Steam, Impulse, and the other mirrors.  I shudder to think what our load would be like without mirrors, Steam, and Impulse!

They are on PST, so it's still very early where they are -- well, about noon, now.  I've just tested out the final version with them, and made one last minor tweak, so both 3.0 and the expansion will be going live on Steam in a matter of minutes.  Direct2Drive is also still pending, but they've had preorders up for a while so anyone who wants it through them can still get it that way.

Thanks X - I put the PST time in my other post above, Steam tends to start the update schedule at 9AM PST but my experience with them tends to push games I like to later updates :p.

Now just gotta force steam to do its update bit and all will be golden. Thanks again for a great game, gotta work on some sorta literate review

Hmm - don't know if this could be considered a bug or not... but I thought that the prompt for game key wouldn't happen with this release? ZR is not installed meaning I shouldn't be in the expansion trial mode right? (double checked the expansions tab - it has a greyed out check box [with check] and says Not Installed) It should just grab my current key right?

Not an issue really, I can just copy and paste my key, it just kinda took me by surprise.

The Steam version will now ask for the key on 3.0, actually -- this was sort of an oversight on my part, but it leads to a more unified binary and will hopefully cut down on confusion with new AI War customers through Steam, anyway (I got quite a few understandable questions about "Where do I enter the key it tells me I have to enter?").  So that's the base game key.  But, the expansion requires a different key that is entered on the settings window if you do get that.
