We're on the list of daily deals on Steam today, and it's excessively cheap! If you don't own a copy of the game and all of its expansions already, now is the time to do so! Buy copies for yourself, buy copies for your friends, and buy it for anything sentient because AI War and all of its expansions are 85% off!

We're the ones who signed up for it!  Price elasticity and all that.  So far in the last 30 minutes we've made more than we have since this Steam summer sale started earlier in the week.  Very nice indeed, if that keeps up! ;)

There's a youtube video with Gabe Newell talking about sales. He points out that with digital distribution, what they found is that marking a game down by 75% will increase their gross revenue 40 times over. Not units sold, mind you, but total revenue. And they also found that after it goes back to full price, they still see an increase in sales, so they're not just poaching future sales from themselves. Fascinating stuff. My point being that I'm fairly sure Arcen is going to make out like the bandits on this deal, and not the other way around. :D

Oh yeah, we've seen that sort of thing, too.  In other sales we've done we've seen a massive uptick in sales, but this one is looking to be pretty special -- it's earned more in the last hour than we tend to earn during the average no-sale month.

I am harassing everyone I know to buy a copy. At that price it's really hard to argue. If they waffle, pointing out that they can get an expansion for free with golden tickets helps. Very crafty salespeople, those Valve kids.

Wow, I do believe my hesitation to purchase the expansions has suddenly evaporated. And I am unsurprised that the revenue has increased past what it was normally, considering That I for one already purchased it, and many other people who were considering it have had their main/only con reduce in scale drastically.

I've been trying to persuade my brother to buy in. Just last night I was showing him what a space dock on FRD producing endless autobombs can do, in fact.

He sounded very interested when I remarked that AI War was on sale. Even more so when it turned into one of the daily deals!

Lol. Why stop at spacedocks! Do a dual start nanoswarm/autobomb, rush enclave starships and cloaker starships.

(Woulda had it firing, couldnt find my save I actually has both in. Only had nanoswarms in this... Tho lol.)

And I just bought it two days ago for $14.99 for the full pack.  Sigh.  Ah well, that's how it goes.  Wish I'd known, though.

Just wanted to mention TotalBiscuit's glowing review in his wrapup of the daily deals in his mailbox segment today. Hopefully that helps to swing a few more sales your way since those videos of his usually garner a few tens of thousands of views each day.
