The AI seems to be using the Forum Antagonizer again.. but.. tbh it did seem like you didn't know how Spirecraft work. Shield Bearers are the Tanks and Siege Towers and Translocators are the warriors. But there's no tank+warrior Spirecraft because that's not what Spirecraft is about. Spirecraft is for sneaky.. Golems are for face roll. It's a design choice and imo it works very well.About mining.. Well.. you build stuff and then you use that stuff. Like you repair a Golem and then you use the Golem. It's hard to make that more interesting without doing something dratic. The change shouldn't nerf the player nor the AI in any way. Nor should it be made similar to any other mechanic.. which would make it (even?) more uninteresting.

I don't think making mining more difficult would make the spirecraft more fun, or that the streamlining there is bad.
I'm pretty much of this opinion, too.

More specifically, the "stories" I get from this game are not really the ones from journal entries and fluff, they're the "and then the exo took a sharp left on my whipping boy and headed for the wormhole for my planet with the MkV Spider turret controller.  The Black Hole Generator stopped most of them, but two raid starships and a MkIV Hunter Killer made it through the wormhole while my reserve fleet chased after them!"

I'm not terribly bothered about backstory and lore, and much more interested in game mechanics.  The current game mechanics for Spirecraft work pretty well, so unless the *mechanics* are made significantly more interesting, I don't see a whole lot of point in changing them.  That's my personal view, of course.

Yep. Sorry about that. I was quite tired, yesterday.

tbh it did seem like you didn't know how Spirecraft work.
Well, I'll try to improve my english and reread myself twice!

I totally agree with it. Keith explained it, and I realized that I needed to read it to understand it.

And about mining, as anyone seems to like the way it is currently, maybe trying to make it (more) fun will end up making it more painful. Okay, then, just forget about it all.
Anyway, I'll stay stuck with my lore desire. Keith, if you read me, let your quill sing again, one day. Why the h*ll does Spire help humans?
Please excuse my english: I'm not a native speaker. Don't hesitate to correct me.

I believe what he means is "Send ship to planet -> Collect Asteroids -> You now have them permanently and can spend them as a limited resource without having to build an enclosure on each one." type thing.
Even if it isn't what he meant, I've always liked this idea.  Right now, Titanite is so rare that you don't always get even 1 in a 100 star map.  But if was redone so that Titanite gave, say, 100 Spirecraft Crystals and that the top tier Spirecraft all cost 100 crystals, you still get the same 1 Titanite = 1 top Spirecraft... or you can get it with 2 Adamantite (@50 each), or 5 Ebonite, or 10 Xampite, or 20 Psyite, or 50 Reptite.
If mean, if you REALLY want that Mk V Attritioner, you can use every Reptite and Psyite in the galaxy at that point.

I can not put into words how much I WANT THIS!!!! I play on 120 maps and I have a metric ton of excess Psyite, and even a great deal of excess Xampite. But anything above that is so rare that its impractical to make a large force out of it. Strangely enough, Reptite is also somewhat rare, at least compared to Psyite and Xampite.

I'd like that system too.  Right now I don't even look at Psyite and Xampite (Reptite?).  Which ever two are the two most common.  Its the third one, minimum that I utilize.

Strange enough, Psyite (brown) and Xampite (white) are rank 2 and 3 respectively. It's Reptite (Blue) that is supposed to be rank 1, the most common. The full order is supposed to be, (from least to most rare): Reptite, Pysite, Xampite, Ebonite, Adamantite, Titanite. I find that Pysite and Xampite are so common that Reptite is the 3rd most rare, Ebonite is like diamonds, and even in my 120 planet games I only really find 2-3 Adamantite, and MAYBE 1 Titanite that I can use before the game is over one way or another.

I can never remember.  1 and 2s I don't even look at.  3rd I utilize immediately, though typically not ALL of them, keeping a few for replacements (if ever needed).

Everything above that is carefully considered what it's turned into and quickly exhausted.
