Spire Warships

Hmm, so after waiting a bit, well, ok, a lot of waiting, it seems spire capital ships dont correctly build modules.  After only selecting one particular kind of warship from the ship yard and building 3 (dreadnaught) one of them didn't build a shield module, rather annoying but ok, it still deals 48,000,000 damage.  Before I report on mantis, is this a known bug?  Also, are modules on spire ships meant to be vunverable to emp?

Already reported the fact that spire ship modules are not emp immune here: http://www.arcengames.com/mantisbt/view.php?id=5977.

I don't recall seeing one about a bug with building modules, and I personally have not had trouble with building modules, but I often use full size fleets with 4 or 5 homeworlds, so it can be hard to tell if all 100+ ships have everything that they should have.

Ok, I am specifically looking at 8 Deadnaughts, 2 currently did not build shields, although told too.  I singled them out for inspection ;) Can provide save if needed, but I for 100% only build dreadnaughts with shields :)  I am currently working on some thing that a new achievment will be required for ;) (or maybe several)

Did you build them manually, or did you set up a kit in the ctrls menu? I always use a kit and never had a problem, but the issue might be that they don't rebuild them automatically if you manually selected the modules.

No, they were selected from a spire ship yard and they had not yet seen battle.  I posted a similar topic a week or so ago about a bug similar to this, at the time I put it down to miss clicking.  How ever now I know I did not miss click or tell the ships to build different modules.

Would those dreadnaughts who don't have shields have another module in the center replacing it, by chance?

Yes, however I cant tell you what module without loading an earlier save, the dreandaught has since perished in battle :P

Well that is why you don't have shields. Only the center module can support a shield.

If it happens in the future, delete the middle module (be careful!) then click the shield.

Ok, so why does the game put things other thana shield module in the two centre positions when specifically told to build shields?

Some things can only go in the shield slot, or you queued up more parts then could fit, so rather then build the shields it built something else like you told it to.

That why I have designs for every level of Spire Fleet Ships in my saved designs, so I can always take the best layout for what I need, based on what I have managed to unlock so far, and I never have to worry about making that mistake.

Yes but the 3 others before hand worked out ok, I didn't touch or change anything, the que was kept on cycle, so why should it change what it builds and in what order?

Did you try and put something else in the other center slot?

I can easily seeing the autobuild order getting messed up if you tried to do one shield and one turret.

No, I just alt tabbed out to post here and carried on, that DN is dead now so I guess it doesnt matter. Would the auto build be screwed up right out of the shipyear?  It was the advanced version with 2 MKV shields, I didn't change build orders or anything

Oh, and now that modules can be killed, does that mean they cant be scrapped?  Can attach save tomorrow if you like...

They can't be killed(expect for the sheilds), but they should be able to be scrapped. Are you not able to scrap your modules?
