Space tugs, managing them, and an annoying problem

How do you manage space tugs? They don't automatically follow the mobile repair station, and they're grouped by their percentage type rather than a 'base' type, where double-clicking on one would select them all. Also, how do you tell them to automatically tug any damaged ships in the system? FRD mode?

And the annoying problem would be that when they tug the ship in for repair, after the ship is repaired to 100% life, whatever command they were performing before is cancelled. This can get really annoying when you have 5 repair stations with 1000 ships and you constantly have to tell your repaired ships to go back into combat, or else they'll just sit there and do nothing.

- Yes :-)

In my games the ships went back to the order i had given them after they were repaired. In fact, they never forget it and try to do it the whole time, but the tractor beam restrains them, until the tug releases the ship.

I select all tugs by going to the right-hand-side unit icons and clicking on the tug icon. If I don't want all of them, I use "L" to until I whittle down the numbers to what I want.

It would be nice to be able to "attach" space tugs to repair stations, though.

Its true, space ships done return to their previous order, instead go back to where they was caught and stay there
