Space Dock Que is disappearing
« on: September 15, 2013, 11:51:26 pm »
I've been playing my campaign for like 4 hours without any problems at all being able to produce units from my Space Docks

I have it set up so I Ctrl+Click each unit and loop it so it cycles through every unit 5 times and then repeats.

Just recently I've been having a problem with the primary space dock I've been using. I Ctrl+Click every unit and set up the que like I mentioned above, then when I go to view another planet it deletes my whole que. I have enough resources so it's not an economic problem.

Is there anything I should be aware of that would cause the entire que to be deleted? I reset the que like 10 times over before I got frustrated and rage quit because I couldn't produce units to defend with. Everything was working fine until I attacked the ai home planet with the eye thing that spawns never ending amounts of units

Any help is appreciated thank you

Sorry to hear you're running into that problem.  I can definitely see how that would be very frustrating!

Honestly I've never heard of a bug causing that in my years here, and it's been some months since the last update, so my guess is that there's some confusion on your end about the UI.  I mean, I assume you're not clicking the "reset" button on a dock with a full queue (which does indeed clear the queue) and I don't think there's any keyboard key you can press to imitate that... but I've also never heard of the game doing this without being asked to do so.

So, to clarify:

1) You're using repeat build, right?  You said so, but if it wasn't on the queue would appear gone after running through it once.

2) When you say "then when I go to view another planet it deletes my whole que" do you mean that you go to another planet and then come back to the dock's planet, and the queue is gone?  If you're just switching view to another planet then naturally you won't see the dock's queue, because the dock is on a different planet than the one you're looking at.  The game doesn't consider units on another planet to be selected, so it doesn't display their menu/queue, etc.

Ok I don't know what the hell I managed to do earlier but it seems to be fine now

Probably what happened is the solid 4 hours drilling into my campaign fried my brain a bit and I didn't have it on loop..... but I swear to god I had everything in order. I'll chalk it up to me being an idiot and not having it on loop but I'll be posting here again if it's an actual problem

Thanks for the fast response guys. Loving the game so far although I feel like an idiot for making this thread now *_*

Alternative: You had a mobile space dock in system, and were using 'D' to select a space dock for construction. The interfaced doesn't differentiate between the two.

..or you had two space docks. It could (unlikely) be cycling through a mercenary dock, or more likely, a secondary space dock you've put up for expendables purposes (scouts, raiders, cutlasses, autobombs, etc).
