Out of a database of better than a hundred real star names, to choose that one for one of the homeworlds...

As a very wise adducted cybernetically transformed man once said: "Resistance is futile."

But due to the nature of the game it goes further a little bit different: "Your technology is not even Mk. IV it will not be assimilated."

"Well, maybe leeched..."

That's one of my favorite TNG arcs, very cool.  But I hadn't memorized the planet name, heh. :)

Nice one, that's awesome.

The Battle of Wolf 359 is a fictional space battle between the United Federation of Planets and the Borg Collective in the year 2367. It is depicted in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II" and the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine pilot, "Emissary".

Fictional? But I saw it on TV!

They're not ALL "historical documents." Surely, you don't think Gilligan's Island is real...

Why is it that every game I play seems to have Murdoch, generally in a strategically important location? It got kinda ridiculous. Typical game plan:

Step 1: Scout for Murdoch
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit!

Yup, that would explain it. It's ok though - I like Murdoch! It should come with it's own special station: Human Fleet Command Station - the badly damaged hq of one of the factions from the human civil war. Its impressive defenses are on par with that a Superfortress (albiet more from local fleet buffs than direct damage, which is still pretty impressive), and the AI is extremely wary of letting it fall back into human hands, as it is both a potent weapon and a major rallying point for humanity!
