...  they tagged along with me.  Very fitting considering the options I started with; they knew I could use the assistance.

Yes, this was my fault.  I maxed out the game so badly in the game I finished.  I very deliberately brought the game to the edge.  No questions should be asked.  Needless to say, though, this was entertaining to see.

lol, never had that before :D so what, the group of spire ships immediately started destroying stuff right when you started the game? Easy victory ftw perhaps?

Just checking: did you cheat to make this happen, or did starting a new game actually carry this over?  I just checked the code and couldn't see where it was able to hold onto that across save/load :)

But if it is holding onto it, I need to fix that, as it would cause an MP desync if someone played the end of a FS game like that and then joined an MP game before restarting the app.

  • Avenger? I hardly know 'er!
I suspect the "Fallen Friends Arise" cheat but if it did just happen that's awesome.

...Unless the glitch that causes it can apply to the AI too. H/Ks and Motherships at the start of the game? Ouch.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

As a user/abuser of cheats in this game i can say without a doubt that it wasnt from that cheat. (The cheat in question spawns 1 destroyer, cruiser, battleship, dreadnaught, and super dreadnaught in the player's control and 1 frigate in the faction's control.)

I see two things with this. If these ships were under your control, kinda a badass bug. Needs to be fixed ASAP, but having that kind of firepower at the start would make me smile. If they were under the faction control, then you might have already lost that game, as they are programed to kill EVERY SINGLE AI WORLD on a straight path to the AI homeworlds. Sure they can carve you a nice chunk of territory before they finally die, (and maybe even make it to an AI Homeworld) but your AIP is going to hit the roof soon enough and if your playing against certain AI types...

Nope - no cheats used.  Should note that in the save -> Galaxy Stats, too, I believe?  They are enabled (I forgot to disable them), but none used.

However, at the end of the prior game, I 'had' cheated, namely spawning a few hundred Omega Drives on an AI homeworld, and got to see the Imperial fleet collide with nearly 200k AIP.  Imperial Fleet still won.

In this save, they just start glassing every world, spreading out.  They were not controllable; they are listed as a minor faction.  They don't hit anything with +AIP, they just hit Guard posts and enemies.  However, since it's the beginning of the game, they pretty much wiped a full cluster out with not even a dent.  They started getting stuck in loops with my planets, too.  Lots of unhandled errors.
