Outward zooming still bothering me significantly; I don't want to zoom out completely.

Also incurred a crash at launch (but no other dump unfortunately): "Fatal error in gc; GetThreadContext failed."  Didn't occur after re-launching, though.

EDIT:  Also, can we have an option for "immediate" scrolling, instead of mandatory smooth?

I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

I'm currently trying to get the game to launch myself. Keep getting the "Too many heap sections" on launch. Also, zooming out does indeed seem to zoom to a predefined state.

When the program starts?  Or when you try to launch a new campaign/save?

On game start. It worked fine when I started in 3.716 and updating to 3.717, but now it refuses to start. Reinstalling atm to see if it was a temporary fluke, if not, please advice as to which error log you want posted with the bugreport ;)

yeah, the game locked up when trying to launch a save. the sound was skipping and I had to exit out. it worked the next time though.

also: I noticed that things seem to take a little while to load up in general. (the main menu, games, after the game has started) its no big deal once it gets going, but I just wanted to make sure it was known.

It sounds like you guys might be running really low on system memory or something at the time.  But I'm going to put in a change that should help resolve that either way.

I'm fairly sure this is a computer/OS error. I can now not launch the freshly installed 3.711 either. Gonna reboot and try once more, but I'm already late for work unfortunately, so I can't help any more after that.

At a wild guess, would you happen to be using Kapersky AV?  And possibly Windows 7?

I found this:
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/45286-Fatal-error-in-gc-quot-GetThreadContext-failed-quot

Not that that helps an end user hitting it, but trying to find out if it's the same thing.

No, using avast! anti-virus, but it is Windows 7 x64 bit. It's run just fine before.

I just rebooted and still the same thing. "Too many heap sections" on launch and then a frozen white window. This is a freshly installed 3.711. Sorry I can't help more, but I REALLY need to get off for work :(

Go, go :)

I meant the question for Spikey, since Unity has found that the GetThreadContext error is associated with running Kapersky.

If you rebooted, and it's still doing it on an older version that used to work... that's really an odd thing.  It sounds like something external interfering, indeed.

Derp, sorry. I was in a hurry and mistook that message for being intended for me. Oh well :P

Okay, back home now. Still experiencing the same error. Doesn't seem to be any forms of error logs either :/

Can you defined "refusing to start"?

We just had a major breakthrough on the crashes, and this may or may not fall in that category.
