The x4, x7, etc, refers to how many wormhole connections go to that planet.  So the higher the number, the more wormholes you have to defend on that planet.  Hope that helps!

Man, the Devs even come back to posts to thank posters!  I wonder if they'll come back to just respond to somebody paying them a compliment.

I'm not sure if it was actually added between the demo and the full version, or if I just failed to notice it, but one of my favorite features in the game, which I use every time out now, is the fact that you don't have to select a home planet at all, and the game will randomly choose one for you. This avoids the problem where I'd routinely regenerate maps and click through various planets looking for the perfect combination of bonus ship and wormhole connections, due to a strange perfectionist streak. Instead, it really fits with the "hey, we just woke you up from stasis, here's the situation for better or worse, and now you need to save us."

:D

Sometimes. ;) Thanks much.

Actually, that's been a feature since well before 1.0, but there's a LOT of features and its easy to miss ones.  Glad you like it! :)
