If you drop by IRC or Steam group chat, I'd be happy to help you with your connection issues. If I'm not around, then perhaps another user there will be around and willing to help you troubleshoot.
Problems establishing a connecting with other users in AI War are usually related to the following:
-The host does not have his port forwarded properly (the host needs to forward on UDP. Port 32320, by default). There is a lot of information about this at
portforward.com. This is the most common issue.
-The game is being blocked by the client's or host's firewall or antivirus. Even if you think it's not the case,
try disabling these while troubleshooting to ensure they're not at fault. This is a really common problem.
-The host has mistakenly given his local network IP rather than internet IP. Use a site such as
whatismyip.com to find your IP.
-Not all users are on the same version of the game.
-Not all users are using the same port. Make sure that everyone has the same port number listed in settings (32320 by default).
Programs like Hamachi and Comodo can help you get around connection problems and situations where you don't have the ability to configure your network properly, but if you can get the game to work without these programs, that's probably ideal.
