What the title says :)

I myself heard about it from a family member who sent me an article on the AI then got interested from there. But I'm sure most of you know that :)

I read the review on 'Out of Eight Reviews' which sparked my interest, then saw RockPaperShotgun cover it and heard the good word. Tried out the demo and bought on the same day.

A post on slashdot, something about gaming. The part that caught my interest was the poster was practically hysterical about the mix of multiplayer and co-op in this game. I had to try it out.

I also find many great games through demo's off of the steam store, but I myself found the game through this post on the Official Dwarf Fortress Forums. I was WAY impressed by the developer of the game himself showing up and answering my questions. He got a sale out of me   ;D

I saw a Steam add, like they always do for new games.  Decided to keep an eye on it.

Later saw on N4G.com a stub article where Chris stated he wanted to continue with free DLC for many years, and his "pro-consumer" (aka anti-drm) stance.  Was impressed.

Next time I wanted a game I bought it on Impulse.  Didn't try the demo, just jumped right in.

Either metacritic.com or an indie game site - I can't quite remember which, probably the former.

I saw it on Impulse within a day or so of its debut there.  Didn't actually get the game until a family member bought it and the expansion for me for Christmas, as I didn't really have enough time to get much past the intermediate tutorial ;)  But had lots of fun on the forum and was really amazed to find a game developer doing so many things right that few if any others do well at all.

In mid January Chris mentioned something in one of those current-status-of-things posts where he was saying that he was really going to need to cut back on AI War updates in order to get Tidalis done in a timely fashion, and that he was looking forward to being able to hire another programmer.  I emailed him with some description of my experience and offered to do some part-time work.  It worked out ;)
