Real game of the month jan-feb 09
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:41:56 pm »
Ok so i went overboard with the first one. This'un is a little easier:

One gets bulletproof fighters against a pair of 7 teleporter turtles. Your goal is to get the highest score in 5 hours. Deadline is Feb. 1st. Highest score gets to pick next game!

NOTE: The game has been edited to include F&D for those that don't like normal. Get the new savegame quick!

Avid League player and apparently back from the dead!

If we weren't going for your money, you wouldn't have gotten as much value for it!

*frown* you do realize that teleporters arent 'simple' units?

You have it set to simple units :\

No, I like the old one better, I found an awesome strategy.

Also, are we allowed to change it to fast an dangerous mode?

Then I suppose I'll count myself out. I can't stand the game on normal. It's simply too slow. Have fun guys :)

Not to be rude, but this is a great example of why this thread is full of fail.  Sorry, I've been rude.

If any random person posting in the forums constitutes a "game of the month" then I suppose Black should just post a "Blacks game of the month" thread.  I have some good ideas too, so we'll probably be seeing a "Buttons game of the month" shortly.  I'm not exaggerating either.  Just consider that a single person has already posted 2 game of the month threads, one of which is the "real game of the month," but it's not the "official game of the month."

Simply put, random posts by random people will not bring the community organization needed to make this a success.

I don't see anyone discussing anything. RCIX put up a game and called it the GOTM. I'm not going to dispute his own scenario in his own thread out of respect for him, but I am going voice my discontent with his choice. Honestly I have no idea how that constitutes random posting by random users. You're being unduly critical for no good reason.

My apologies.  On second thought I'll participate.  Although I still say we need more organization.  I hope to see a fresh start on February first.  Mine as well do what I can with this campaign though, in the mean time.

EDIT:  I just noticed that the goal is the highest score in 5 hours.  Surely we can finish this up by Feb 1st?

Well, the 'first one' was loads of fun. Once I changed my name back to deMangler - it was weird being RCIX, I don't know how you deal with it.....
 ;)
Now to play the 'real' one....

An opportune time to sneak this in!

Scoring Revision

So, what stops us from pausing the game, constructing a whole bunch of structures, then self-destructing themselves for score?  IMO reliance upon one's trustworthiness is key at the moment; or rather, a measure of one's life if they even bother doing that.  With that said, I'm unfortunately too busy to participate!  Haha, perhaps a game where I can just turtle and toggle the game speed.  (:
