I admit, I was for a moment amused when...
« on: October 25, 2012, 03:16:10 pm »
My standard champion was held hostage to a black hole machine. In a map when 1/3 of the map from my (potential) empire was accessed from that black hole machine.
Life is short. Have fun.

More to my point:

Can ALL champions be immune to black hole generators please?

I'm not a fan of AS difficulty being a factor of the RNG rather then the ai difficulty. My previous 10 / 10 game was won in a single HW game but now due to bloody black hole generators I can't get a cruiser due to those black hole generators.
Life is short. Have fun.

If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Silly Question - Have you considered destroying the black hole generator?

Or how about capturing it and putting it to defensive use? From the system description it sounds like it would be handy to have in Human hands.

Champions are supposed to be able to act without AIP increase for positive effects during refleets/other slow areas of the game.

A lack of BHG/grav drill immunity inhibits their primary purpose.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

And the Neinzul Hulls will let you bypass that BHM. If it is that much of a bother, man up and eat some AIP :)

So the answer to a situation of RNG is another RNG factor?

Part of what annoys me is that for BHG i normally just go around them. In my current game I have one closing off 1/3 of the galaxy for me, and another right on the nebula point.

Champions are by far the most dependent on needing full mobility. Hindering them by something that is pure chance just makes games random in how much they pull out your hair.

Just poking a little fun. You should have all the hull types unlocked by the time you unlock cruisers. That's 5 nebula. While I haven't seen your current game or layout in general, you should be able to get to 5.

The game has presented you with an obstacle. I'm sure you have options available to overcome it.
