OMD under glass on a world with an Eye, a common enough scenario.  How do you propose taking it out otherwise?

You do it piecemeal.
Transport in the bomber, glass the ... glass, then warp out and bring in the fighters.

And if one of that planet's "focus" ships was an anti-bomber ship? And its second "focus" was an anti-"anti-bomber" ship?

I mean, that would be great, right?  Emergent challenges!  Anyway, surely there ought to be some situations where the best answer is "don't take this world"?

I think that giving OMDs a modest HP buff and a multiplier vs structural and ultra-heavy will do the trick. It may need a bit of a ROF buff, given how much easier it is to get starships these days. (Mostly for human players, but AIs are getting a few more starships these days too, lots more if you count exo-waves)

For the turret hull and the vs ultra-light penalty, I am apathetic on.

EDIT: Used the wrong word. I had ambivalent before, which means mixed feeling both ways. I am actually apathetic about it, I don't care either way.

I'm pro-turret hull and anti-ultra-light penalty.

Why?

Because what other tools does the AI get to slow down a raid starship?  Mm?

Nah, but I swear every blinking system that I want to Raid has 2+ Grav Guardians stalking in it.

That's just the AI's way of showing its love.  ;D

Snort, great.  She's one of those lovers, 'eh?  Next thing you know when I break up with it it'll molotov my boat, break all the glass in my truck, make my dog hate me and... you know, I need to stop listening to Country Music.
... and then we'll have cake.

This forum...

Anyways, I'm not exactly for any changes to the OMD really. It's pretty good as it is already. That it pastes Raids is just good, imo.

As it is it's a total joke when superweapons like golems, spire fleets or champions enter the picture because 1.8M damage is like a relaxing massage to those things.

I'd rather see an adjusted form of the OMD brought to bear if this is what you're looking to balance the OMD against.  I rarely play with superweapons and would like to have a way past these monstrousities on Eye planets.

Either attacking with waves of bombers or using an armored warhead. The damage bonus for the OMD was suggested against Ultra-Heavy so it shouldn't affect starships.

Hm, the OMD has "reduces power of incoming lasers" as an attribute, interesting. Never noticed that before.
