Steam: Cannot get game to start on OS X Mountain Lion

Hi

Well, pretty much as the name suggests, really. I've tried searching the forums but these are pretty generic terms and I am not sure where you find the error logs...

Anyway, bought and installed, all was going fine... The game started and then suggested some updates. So I did these. Ever since then I've not managed to get the game running even though Steam says that it is. I've clocked up over 40 hours without so muh as trying out the tutorial. I'm pretty disappointed because everything looked so good, and yet, I'm not able to confirm that!

Hey there,

Sounds like your game got corrupted in some fashion.  Never fear!  Simply do a "verify local cache" in steam and it will fix up whatever is wrong.

Yea, if an update messed it up just do a verify cache and see if that gets it working.  Then you can try updating again.

If that doesn't work, try a reinstall in steam.

If that doesn't work (on occasion the steam downloading process just doesn't want to work), try a reinstall from here: http://arcengames.com/w/index.php/aiwar-downloads .

Got to say Thanks and major Kudos to you guys, perfect result. Clearing the cache unfortunately didn't quite fix matters, as the first run was fine but subsequent runs exhibited the same symptoms, however....

Clearing the entire program out and re-downloading has made it work perfectly. Now I just have to understand the game... :-)
