Nobody read these plans
« on: July 13, 2014, 05:05:51 am »
Am I the only achievement hunter on this forum? Anyway, the "who read these plans" achievement seems to suffer some bugs.

The ingame achievement list has 4 energy-related achievements, each unlocked by having a "net energy ballance" of a certain amount:
300,000 (named "Rainy Day Savings")
600,000 (named "Future Proofing")
900,000 (named "Turn Off The Lights!")
12,000,000 (named "Who Read These Plans?")

They seem to follow a x300,000 rule, at least for the first 3 of them:
1 x 300,000 = 300,000
2 x 300,000 = 600,000
3 x 300,000 = 900,000
but here lies what may be a mistake (or a dev's troll):
4 x 300,000 = 12,000,000... ?!?

And the steam achievement is 2,000,000 which is not consistent with the ingame one (and not even consistent with the N x 300,000 "rule").

So: does "who read these plans" need...
* 1,200,000 energy, as the other energy-related achievements let think (and both ingame and steam achievements are wrong)
* 12,000,000 energy, because it's a troll and "who read these plans" is a big step forward the 3 other (in this case the steam one is wrong)
* 2,000,000 energy as the steam achievement says to be, and a little further than the 3 other (still easy to achieve on a chockpoint'ed Fallen Spire game)

Who needs to go back in school? Me or you, Keith?

Aside from this, the achievements' ordering is a complete nonsense (and the list tends to partial repeats when read from the game's main menu). I know this is far from being a priority, but... do you think it's worth posting on mantis?

PS: while I was checking all that, I found that the steam 900,000 energy is named "Heat Wave Brown Out"...

The numbers have changed evert time the energy system has. The 2000000 version on stream is one of the first iterations, back when each collector was wroth ~75,000 at the best efficiency.

Stream probably doesn't allow changes to the description.

So which one is the good one? 12,000,000 or 1,200,000?

I like the 12 million level.

It .. seems fitting for the top end, as the excessive/crazy is really a lot of fun to shoot for.

I agree, I love "excessive/crazy" challenges too (that's why I play AI War, after all). I just wish the description of this achievement be fixed, if it's indeed a bug. I don't want to post on mantis without being sure it's a true bug. If anyone who already achieved it can tell me how...
