So, the modified MRS system is amazing. One of them is now able to cover entire fleets on the go, and they work even better on the defense behind a forcefield on spokes worlds  ;D

MRS changes sound promising! i can now have an uberfleet of resistance frigates, bombers, and fighters cruising at good speed!

I had an idea: What if more effort had to be thrown into capturing a golem, like having to defeat a specialized protector of some kind? It still remains as a "what can i use to boost my full fleet" thing (as it is intended to be now), but it gets that Experimentals from SupCom feel to it.

If we weren't going for your money, you wouldn't have gotten as much value for it!

Oh, wait... *causation loop detonates*

Now all we need is an event like the 'rebel colony will uncloak on planet x in 120 minutes';

'AI will repair armoured golem on planet x in 120 minutes'

Yep -- apparently that is new.  Keith, that's a really important one.  Can you look into that tomorrow if you have a chance?
Sure.  For some reason the notifier never sent me this string of posts; perhaps it has a similar bug ;)

Objection - as long as you are in supply fortresses are able to be used as offensive force and even defense/turret cleaners. 5 fortresses

Last time I played, I was limited to 4 fortresses.  Has this changed recently?

The build limit is 5 fortresses. Fairly certain of that. At least thats what my build choice tells me 5/5 , that is

You are both correct, actually. 5 is the limit in solo play, 4 is the limit in 2 player. The ship caps scale down slightly with multiplayer games as they get larger.

Yeah, with 2-3 people in the game you get 4 each, which is pretty insane if you've got a good choke point (spokes, trees, snake, etc). The lower cap isnt an issue as long as you play it smart.

Ah, OK. That explains it.  ;D

Ok, I found the problem with the frigates-getting-suicidally-close, it was tied to some of the throttling changes I'd made earlier.  I fixed it for 3.094by removing the throttle on the function that checks "am I close enough that I can stop now"; performance doesn't appear to suffer since it wasn't a big-cost function that has to check every other ship on the planet or anything like that, but we should keep an eye on that.

Made a variety of performance and throttle improvements as well; ships should be much less likely to just sit there without firing during a fleet battle, and should be more likely to get updated target lists if all their current targets are out of range.

MRS change makes leech units soooooo much better, I play with Shadowote frequently and he grabbed parasites and the new MRS, had ourselves a nice core of 100-200 mark IV ships within the first hour, which is good because it allowed us to finally stabilize against level 9 AIs on a spoke world, something we had been trying to do for awhile (3-4 failed attempts, but losing is half the fun!)

Just like Dwarf Fortress! (+1 nerd cred)

And yeah, parasites are my new favorite ship. I've been building them pretty much exclusively, since I keep stealing dozens of tier 2 frigates and bombers. A bit of micro, and they do a great job stealing dozens of zenith bombardments (enough so that I reached ship cap on them!). Now if only I could start giving Kryzite the ships I've stolen... oh well, i guess I'll have to settle for just stealing them for myself  8)

Ah, DF, now there's a justification of technology. Perhaps I should make an AI Plot named "Fun" ;)

Hmm... well, if you combine a fleet with FRD with a devourer, you could argue that our ships are kinda like dwarfs at the moment: reckless and prone to suicidal acts of stupidity. This calls for lava - PULL THE LEVER!

FYI I deleted your FRD control node that game after you lost like 5,000 ships to that golem!
