Yea, there's generally a bit of a repositioning after tractor locking a bunch of stuff in a small area.  If the tractoring object moves it will keep repositioning periodically; I'm actually looking at that right now since there've been some bugs.

Ok, for 3.084:

-Core Warhead Interceptor health dropped from 150 million to 5 million.

Chris may want to change this back up, but it's quick to do.

I am not convinced that is a good solution, really. If I may fathom a guess, I'd say that Chris gave it so much HP to make it impervious to hit and run raids. Bringing it down to 5mil HP means that almost any well planned raid can take it out and make the system and vulnerable to and traversable by missiles.

I'm assuming the whole point of this is to change it away from being a free meat shield target for the tactical AI, which I can understand (but I never saw as being a problem, seeing as how a meat shield is a nice reward for capturing a challenging high level planet), but perhaps a better way to handle it is just have the weapon self destruct when the AI command station is destroyed (except with no AIP hit), similar to how the warp gate self destructs.
Time to roll out another ball of death.

I think the aggregating targeting for melee ships needs changing.  Swarms of melee units like viral shredders have become almost useless, the majority of them spend their entire time playing catch-up with a 'leader' unit.  I unleashed a fully loaded Hive Golem on a system containing roughly 2K tech III AI ships, and the wasps killed a few dozen ships around the wormhole before they died of old age.  Before the patch, they would have single-handedly cleared the system of non-blade immune units with time to spare.

Hmm, I could have it go back to basically not aggregating melee's at all, but then you're going to have cases (like in a save you submitted) where they're clogging up the get-target-list pipe and ships aren't shooting at waves emerging from wormholes for a few seconds, etc...  Will have to think about a good fix.

If its just a case of the game trying to keep good speed, I wouldnt mind it slowing to a crawl when it needs to get the targeting working correctly  ;D
