The latest prerelease is available at http://www.arcengames.com/share/AIWar1202S.zip

That version is an upgrade from version 1.201, so you have to already have 1.201 (or greater) installed. Just unzip it into your game folder (usually C:\Program Files\Arcen Games\AI War\ unless you specified something else). Please make sure that your unzip process keeps the folder structure from the zip file, rather than just unpacking all of the files into the base target directory.

What's new since 1.202R:
(Cumulative release notes since 1.201 are attached at the bottom)

-------------------

-There are now three levels of zoom to the minimap.  The bigger levels are usually going to be unsuitable for small monitors, but are a godsend for players with larger resolutions.

-Dragging is now supported on the minimap.  This is mostly useful when very zoomed out, or when using one of the larger minimap sizes.

-Some minor inacurracies were fixed in the first tutorial.

-The regen rate of cutlasses has been doubled.  Now it takes 7.5 minutes for them to fully heal themselves from 0% health, rather than 15 minutes.

CHANGES FROM PRIOR PRERELEASES

-In the last prerelease, when science labs had no supply they were still gathering knowledge.  Fixed.

Also included in this release is the localization-readying of the tutorials, thanks to Fiskbit.  From what I have seen of them, it looks like they are working well (and he also fixed some minor inaccuracies and poor wordings of mine), but anyone who doesn't mind taking a go through the tutorials is much appreciated.

When dragging on the minimap, could the scrollwheel zoom in on the middle of the screen rather than the cursor position? Seems like it'd allow more control over what you're looking at that way.

When units are under attack their icons blink, BUT

The first blink is visible and the 2nd is invisible, this has such a large delay that sometimes half-my fleet disappears entirely from the screen each "blink" maybe a case of a misssing icon?

I have to second the suggestion to make middle-mouse-zoom center the zoom around the center of the view when the mouse is interacting with the minimap. This would essentially make the minimap perfect.

Yeah, I don't think this is new, but this is something I have just been noticing more recently myself, so something must have changed.  Maybe it was just the borders blinking before?  I'm not certain.  At any rate, in T the borders only will now blink, and they blink at a faster rate.  Good call!

From upcoming T:

-Zooming while the mouse cursor is over the minimap now causes the window to center on the minimap location under the cursor.  This makes it easy to zoom in on a minimap location, for instance.

I wonder if you sleep Chris or lead a normally socially-involved life. I have to ask on behalf of the community that you slow down the updates. While we appreciate it man - don't kill yourself for us. When's the last time you slept?

Haha, thanks Idlework.  Getting a new business off the ground does take a lot of work, so right now I have pretty long hours.  It helps that my wife is similarly busy with her student teaching and such.  I've already slackened the pace somewhat for the sake of my sanity, and at some point I'll need to scale back to only around 60 hours a week or so.  Still plenty of time to get stuff done in, but not nearly so much as now.

I've played through all the tutorials running versions R and S side by side, and am happy to report that Fiskbit's localization efforts have been a success, and he's already fixed the two minor errors that were found.

Its like I said before, X isn't human. He's actually a computer AI and he's making this game and collecting data to see how we play so that one day he can release an evil AI to wipe out the human race and it will be so powerful from all this play testing that no one will be able to stop it. ;D
