I don't have an addiction problem as long as I get my updates daily.

Heck, you snort one ground up memory stick loaded with AI War patches and suddenly you're an 'addict'.

Wow - that's impressive.  I was trying to swallow mine.

After AI War 2.0 the frequency of updates for AI War itself is going to go way down, although there will still be new stuff and changes in at least one or two prereleases a week, with official releases coming every few weeks.  That's my current plan, anyway!

You can't just cut us off cold turkey like that! You gotta decrease the update frequency in a step program so the withdrawal effects won't be so jarring.

Well, I doubt it will be a "hard stop" sort of thing. :)  Just that right now the pace is super high because there is so much to do and I am going to AI War 2.0.  At some point there is going to be more stuff in the "nice to have" or "expand the game" type categories, and those I'll put out at a reduced rate so that I can actually make some other games, expansions, etc.  It will still be a ton more free DLC content than you get with any other RTS game I can think of, but my time would be more like 5% to 10% on AI War (hopefully), and the rest on the other projects (some of which are AI War indirectly, the expansions).

AI War is going to continue to grow and grow and grow over the next few years, with plenty of free DLC and some really large amounts of new content in multiple expansions, so don't worry that I'm walking away from the game or something.  There will always be new stuff happening with AI War for a long time to come.  But I can't keep doing this same level of stuff with the prereleases if I want to do another project, ever, because right now this takes up around 150%-200% of my working hours time (that's not an exaggeration, that's counting all the long hours and weekends, etc).

But anyway, I doubt it will be an instant-off sort of thing, and I'll continue to provide information on what's going on with AI War, the expansions, and the other projects Arcen is working on.  Hope that makes sense!  No reason to worry!

eRa, mind if I also use your stars mod as one of the styles?  I'd probably call it "Colored Stars" mode, rather than "eRe4s3r's Stars" just because the latter won't be very informative to people who don't know you. ;)  But of course a credit in the release notes, etc, as usual.

Yes thats ok ;p

By the way - can we get a Full Version without installer? In a zip file?

Not just 1.000 to something but

AI war 1.201C as Full Zip - Without an exe installer? (When 1.20 is done of course, not the pre-releases)

Oh, I somehow missed this comment before.  I could put something like that up, the main thing is that it just takes a long time for every upload, which is a challenge for me right now with 368kbps up.  I'm working on upgrading to a business class line that will give me 1.5 Mbps up, after which point stuff like that will be a no-brainer.  I've noted down that you want it, at any rate! (Out of curiosity, what for?  I could see it being useful for the Linux/Mac distros, but I'm curious as to other uses.)

Well the 1.000 to 1.013 patch does not always replace all files. But mainly i sometimes want to revert to an old version to compare some things and the installer is just SO bothersome. ;p But i can see your point with the upload speed, i only have 65kib/s up heh...

Also sometimes i get weird file missing errors when i repair an install with the installer - dunno why or how, i know installers are a huge pita - so for people who have all things installed already the full version might be easier and faster to install when it comes in a zip file. Just don't put it on the main-page, otherwise you confuse some.. ehm, less technically geeky people.

Ah, I see what you mean with all that -- good points.  Generally speaking if you just unzip the 1000ToWhatever version over top of the current installation, that will take you back to the Whatever version without incident.  I'll definitely put a full zip up as soon as my connection speed is up, if not before, though.  Should be a help, as you say.

Bloody hell - another release!

Being new around here, is this frequency normal? If so, excellent stuff!  8)

Encourage some i18n - that will save you. :)

Is it intended that low power mode uses just less than 10% of the power? Docks use 10,000 normally, but 998 in low power mode. Crystal manufactories use 900 normally and 89 in low power mode.

It being exactly 10% would be a lot easier to gauge.

Probably relates to Pentium-X3999's quirky "0.999999999 == round down" math that's around the place. I've noted once before that if your Super Mega Battleship gets hit by a micrometeor that it's pristine 100% health instantly becomes 99%, even if it's got 64 million health points. :)

That and the AI's HQ's sit at 0% health for a very long time before going boom. :)

It's actually a fixed-int math precision issue, precisely so that I can avoid the floating-point issues that you are referring there (which vary by machine, and thus lead to desyncs).  Not sure there is much I can do about it at this time, at any rate.
