By the way - can we get a Full Version without installer? In a zip file?

Not just 1.000 to something but

AI war 1.201C as Full Zip - Without an exe installer? (When 1.20 is done of course, not the pre-releases)

Yeah...it's all fun and games, until there is the odd day that there is no patch. And then the withdrawal symptoms begin...

Tell me about it. I can't stop pressing F5 on the forums page ;)

Use ReloadEvery firefox plugin ;p

But But! I need my daily fix!  ;D

My bad!  I just got back from lunch, and see the notes now.  The opaqueness was fixed wrong in that last version, that's what I get for trying to rush a prerelease out before lunch.  Ah, well.  The new version is up now, same link above, and you should be good to go for real!

Admiral was noting that I should say in advance which days will not have a prerelease to prevent people from flipping out, and I thought that was a good idea.  I always do that if I am going to be out of town or away or whatever, but when I'm working on localization really heavily then that also can slow down the other prerelease feature flow.  I will definitely try to do that as part of my "outreach program for update addiction." ;)

Being new around here, is this frequency normal? If so, excellent stuff!  8)

This is what we call a 'slow week'. I'm actually hardly joking at all. :)

Great commitment! :o

Thanks! :D

I think that is going a bit far. The next step will be that we will call you a <disrespectful adjunctive deleted> <explicit characterisation deleted> when there is no patch and you haven't warned us.

Do your thing and surprise us with patches once (ok very often) in a while. Don't feel pressured. Work on Alden Ridge for a day now and then....

OK I probably didn't make myself clear enough in the oriinal post :( I don't have an issue with the Nebulae I have an issue with the stars. The Stars make the background appear grey which is very close to the colour of the zoomed in units so makes them difficult to determine. Putting high contrast on makes it better but imho whilst it looks better you don't get such a good feel for the units.

Just my 2 cents and i'm staying on this version. But now I have seen this http://arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,974.0.html that is exactly what I mean!

Well, I think it's a respectful thing for me to do to keep the community up to date when I'm going to deviate from the norm.  If something comes up and I can't give warning, or a day slips past when I am working on something else, or whatever, then of course I don't expect to be called expletives. :)  But by the same token I like to be pretty transparent about what is going on, so this is just in support of that.  I've certainly been on the other end in the past, waiting on some company to do something and frustrated because I had no clue what was going on.

Alden Ridge is pretty much on ice until next year.  Right now it's all progress towards AI War 2.0, and then it will be a big focus on Feedback (our upcoming puzzle game), and the first AI War expansion.  After AI War 2.0 the frequency of updates for AI War itself is going to go way down, although there will still be new stuff and changes in at least one or two prereleases a week, with official releases coming every few weeks.  That's my current plan, anyway!

You can't just cut us off cold turkey like that! You gotta decrease the update frequency in a step program so the withdrawal effects won't be so jarring.

Oh!  Now I see what you are talking about.  It doesn't show up that way at all for me, clearly my monitor settings are really different, so your screenshots were not too informative in that sense because it looks the same to me.  But I'll make sure and have different "star styles" like the different "nebula styles" so that you can have the version you want.

eRa, mind if I also use your stars mod as one of the styles?  I'd probably call it "Colored Stars" mode, rather than "eRe4s3r's Stars" just because the latter won't be very informative to people who don't know you. ;)  But of course a credit in the release notes, etc, as usual.

Heck, you snort one ground up memory stick loaded with AI War patches and suddenly you're an 'addict'.
