The Latest prerelease is now out: http://www.arcengames.com/share/AIWar1013J.zip

That version is an upgrade from version 1.012, so you have to already have 1.012 (or greater) installed. Just unzip it into your game folder (usually C:\Program Files\Arcen Games\AI War\ unless you specified something else). Please make sure that your unzip process keeps the folder structure from the zip file, rather than just unpacking all of the files into the base target directory.

What's new since 1.013H:
(Cumulative release notes since 1.012 are attached at the bottom)

-------------------

-Ion cannons now fire 4X faster, and have 4 simultaneous shots instead of just one, which makes flooding them with low-level ships vastly much harder.

-Shots should now more quickly die when their target leaves the current planet.

-The sound effect files are now all stored in the ogg format, which saves space and paves the way for doing more improvements to the sound effects without making huge updates for players.

-The background nebula images are now blended even better than before, and a few more images are used in order to make the effects even more dramatic.

-The background stars/nebulas are now rendered in a larger area that scrolls slightly as the camera pans around.  This gives a much better impression of movement for players.  There is also now a slight zoom factor to the background stars/nebulas, to make the whole appearance look more dynamic.

-Several fixes to the third basic tutorial.

CHANGES FROM PAST PRERELEASES
--------------

-Previously, when switching between planets on the galaxy map, the galaxy map stars would change.  Fixed.

-New starfield images (these are not necessarily final).

Glad you like it!  Phil is now actively working on a bunch of new planets and such, too, so we should see even more leaps forward shortly. :)

Lo it seems i have a bad day today - i have the 3rd bug in my one game ;/

The ai has only 2 exo wormholes right, so the planet WITH the exo wormhole IS their home planet right?
And there are only 2 stations in the entire universe that LOOK like core command stations...
So if, lets say.. both are destroyed, and the game does not end .. and the objectives say 1 left.. then that is odd.. right? :)

Attached save shows the state - but any of the last 3 bug reports (and their saves) i submitted are essentially the same game.

I scouted visited all planets and there are no other core command stations  :'( :'( :'( :'(

(Also, aside from the pile of bugs i seem to find today, i also like the scrolling backgrounds! ;p) The game has changed immensely the past 2 weeks

From the K release, to come out shortly:  There was previously a bug that was causing planets that were destroyed to not let their ownership be later changed to nothing (this would happen if a player nuked an AI home planet and then later killed the AI).  This could actually prevent players from winning.  Fixed.

Glad you like the new scrolling backgrounds!  Yes, the game is definitely going through an immense graphical change (and play change, when it comes to last week), and there's lots more to come in the graphical department in particular!
