decreasing queue size with multiple factories selected
« on: July 14, 2009, 10:11:27 am »
Hello again,

I noticed that when I have multiple factories selected (with the same queue in each) I can add stuff just fine, but when I try to remove things from the queue they're only removed from one factory. This is rather unhandy because, apart from the obvious "problem" that you have to cycle through all of your factories to change each queue, it also ensures the factories have different queues and thus won't allow you to easily manage them when grouped anymore.

I doubt that's working as intended, so I figured I'd post it.

Haha. :) Actually, I did just check it out, and I can't duplicate it.  When I right-click or shift+Right-click to remove items in the queue, it's working just fine.  Can you double-check to make sure this isn't working, or post some steps to duplicate?  I'm not sure a save would help in this case, but if there aren't any special steps to duplicate then I guess that would help.  Thanks!

Here it is:

Push the items in the queue, instead of the... "construct this ship type" buttons.

It's just how you expect things to go in an RTS I guess.

If you want to add new units, you do so from the list of available units. If you want to remove queued items you do so from the list of queued construction.

Now that I looked at it, it does the same thing when you add construction clicking on stuff in the queue, only goes onto one station's queue, the rest keeps the queue they had.

Oh!  Yeah, I never thought about that aspect.  Generally because selecting multiple docks generally means that those buttons are unavailable (with the "queue summary" buttons showing instead, when the queues are at all different).  Added to my list, thanks for the added detail.
