and 70 Engineer Drone Tech III's (yay for parasites!). Given that I can only barely get 11, I think this AI cheats. ;)

Whoa, holy crap!  That's definitely a bug.  The AI is adding infinite higher-level engineering drones because it is only counting the mark I engineers when it looks for its existing amounts.  Whoops. :)

Ironicly, I didn't end up buying Tech III Engineers this game, since I was aiming to get the repair station things. By the time I hit one of the later Tech III planets and got, like, a dozen, I decided that I probably didn't need to bother with repair stations anymore and just harvested whichever Engineers I tripped over. :)

Last count before I quit the game was something over 150 Tech III Engineers. Of course it didn't help when I walked into the Core V world... and had my 1500 ship attack force reduced to nothing at the wormhole defenses. :( *quit, load another time*

At some point we'll stop finding all these weird bugs, and you'll be bored with all the normal ones. :)

Ha, the normal ones are at least easy and quick to fix.  The engineers thing is fixed in the official 1.009 release (imminently to be released), so you shouldn't be picking up hundreds of those anymore in the future. :)

:( I shall miss my (massive) friendly swarm of engineers that darken the sky like locusts. Gray, green beam spitting, repairing locusts granted. :)

Haha.  Well, there are always cheat codes for things like that. :)

You might link to the 1.009 Release and un-sticky this thread?

Cheers!

In the lobby, the enable/disable cheats check-box, when checked and unchecked, clears the chat box. At least it does when nobody else is in the lobby, and I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't when the lobby is filled...

Don't ask why I was chatting to myself :P.

Thanks for reporting that!  Looks like most of the settings checkboxes and dropdowns clear the chat box.  I'll have a fix for that for 1.010.

Np, glad to help :D.

Is this the correct topic for bug-reporting, though? Is there like, an official (stickied?) topic for reporting them?

Typically bug reports and other suggestions either come in on:

1) The thread relating to the version the bug/suggestion relates to (for 1.009 official, this is close enough).
2) The suggestions thread, which isn't stickied, but a lot of people use it off and on.
3) Another thread with a whole batch of suggestions / bug reports from one person.
4) A single thread with just one suggestion or bug report from one person.

I don't really have a preference for which method is used, except that #1 can be handy when it's a bug report for a specific version.  Also, I prefer that all discussion of a single issue be put in the same thread, but everybody pretty much does that anyway.

I read all the posts, either way, so for me it makes little difference.  We might need to get more organized with this at some point in the future, but for now this seems to work for everyone.

Inability to stack engineer commands?

The Engineer unit allows you to stack (sorry, don't know the actual term... holding shift) movement orders perfectly fine, but take the following example: You're producing ships while making an advanced warning sensor. You want the engineer to help finish the sensor, then go back to helping produce ships. However, you can't stack the commands when you click on the buildings; it automatically goes to helping build the last thing you clicked, shift or no.

Flaw, or design?

This is actually by design -- interestingly enough, you're the first person to have even mentioned it.  You can queue up movement, attacks, or cross-planet jumps, but that's it.  Most people don't really even micromanage the engineers to that degree, so far as I know, since they are so highly automated.

Interesting... I noticed their hyperactivity, and personally find it annoying :P. I guess I'll have to mess around with them, see what they do when, all that stuff...

Ah well, I guess I've been playing to many RTS's to competitively which require so much microing ;D. I must say, this is much more relaxing then trying to micro everything at once :P.
