Powerslavers
« on: August 20, 2014, 10:27:06 am »
So Powerslavers swallow enemy ships to increase their own firepower.. but how does this mechanic work exactly? At least Assault Transports' (and.... I was about to say AI Carriers but never mind (The description says "Attack 192*(Variable, see below)" well.. there is no variable below..)) description tells how they work.

Also: Spire Swallowers slowly destroy the ships they swallow. This doesn't seem to be the case with Powerslavers. I can manually unload the enemy ships and they don't seem to have any kind of attrition damage.

EDIT: The point of the screenshots is to show that swallowing ships doesn't seem to affect the damage at all. When you select a ship and mouse over an AI ships it shows the (estimated?) damage you're going to do.. well.. that damage is the same with 2 different Powerslavers which have a different amount of swallowed ships.

From earlier testing, I found the damage multiplier is increased by the number of ships swallowed.  Base damage = 104 * (x+1), where x is the number of ships swallowed.
And you are correct that the Powerslaver does not destroy the swallowed ships.  Once swallowed, they remain forever (so your Slavers never get weaker, only stronger).

The description should be updated to reflect the mechanic, too.
