So, who's next?  3 votes per person this time, and I'll try to do something with the top 3 results, but probably not more than that because "processing" the results tends to significantly bog down if there's a ton of winners.

I'm not playing at an awfully high level and maybe I could be optimizing my ship choices better, but I'm certainly always happy to see viral shredders and I often unlock higher-tier bomber starships and the light starship line; so I think they're all right as they are.  Of course, I'd be happy to see units I like made a bit better :)

The problem with the starship line isn't what they do, it's the K price for it.  They used to be rampaging monstrousities that could operate nearly independently.  Now they're 'in line' with the earlier ships and are more a supporting unit, but the K prices are outrageous.
... and then we'll have cake.

Voted for infiltrator, raider and the starships.
Would be nice to see anything that can be used effectively-ish in one way or another without throwing it with the rest of the ships in a large ball against the enemy (also, starships feel kind of meh for their knowledge price like others already mentioned).

If the Spire archive does make it into the top 3 (and it looks like it will), will you buff it by changing around its seeding logic any? I am asking before I get very far into my current game, because I don't want to have to restart again to take advantage of the changes.

By the time you get the archive, there's really no use in staying and getting the K's as that will both put the AI homeworld on alert and invite for raids from said AI to destroy the archive.

My second vote goes to the Neinzul Enclave Starship (MkIV), while extremely usefull in some way's, its still 14k knowledge you could have spent on 2 tier 3 units and 1 tier 2 or other extremely much more valuable goodies. Sure, the drone's MK IV help a little but thats even further knowledge costs...

As for the last vote, the EtherJet, while fun in a way, doesn't really do well unless micro'd. Maybe radar jamming like the plane (only with the jamming being tractor range +1000 or something?) or the ability to break enemy tractor beams at a 1 to 1 ratio? Would make it very annoying to fight against I suppose but still ^^*

I have not tried taking the system yet, but I have a golemite with a Botnet in a system I *have* to take in my current game.

I have not tried to yet, mostly because I look at the Botnet's stats and go "how the hell do I do this?"

It's pretty early in the game, I can't swamp it with numbers yet.  :-\

I'll let you know how it goes.

As per my usual setup, I don't have golems or spirecraft myself to counter, just the regular ships so it's going to be a slog.

edit: Wait, does being unable to attack units that can not move include turrets? Maybe I can bait it....

Early on in LotS development botnets were eligible for inclusion in exos.

It was not pretty.

Try a pack of plasma sieges boosted by light starships? Surely the AI versions have the same targetting restrictions...
