Ditto.  They're more of an annoyance than a real threat, only because they are almost no threat individually and will clump on top of the command stations of AI systems and do nothing.  And they'll pile up ten, twenty, sixty, three hundred deep.

Agree with Draco, they do seem to like clumping up and sitting there doing nothing.  I found on a Mark IV world early game, this can make it very difficult to take if you don't shut them down quickly.  I would like to see them be a bit more offensive.

They do tend to be a bit too shy at times. Often times, the very thing that was meant to counter this tendency, "defensive hybrids are mobilizing", often times will cause a net no-op, where none of them follow through on an attack, and just go right back to defending. Meaning, it failed to prevent what it was designed to do. :(

That and 8893: Make Hybrids individually stronger, but decrease their spawn rate would help make them more interesting.

No one plays with Beachheads turned on. Beachheads make the game harder. Playing without Beachheads is cheese.

With my diffuse defenses the halved wave size actually has more impact than the disabled supply.

And the ones that do attack are suicidal.  They never know when to start running away.  When they were first introduced, you actually had to WORK at killing them before they got away, now they don't even have a snowball's chance in hell.*

*Which is likely related to the issue of everything is countered so hard.

They got nerfed, and other things got buffed, the net effect being and now an individual hyrbid is not much threat.

The "retreating too late" issue is something I have pointed out in the past, but have never gotten around to posting it on mantis.

I'm rather surprised at the poll results.  More people play with Hybrids than Auto AIP?

Wow.
Someone plays without Hybrids?

People play with auto-AIP?

Auto AIP keeps the game moving.  Think about this: if you set it to 1 AIP/30 minutes, and your game lasts 15 hours, that's 30 AIP.  That's pretty minor really.  But you'll be surprised how much more it encourages you to keep getting stuff done, rather than wait for everything to be perfect.

Now that CPAs and Exos scale with in-game time they keep the game moving too.

True to a degree, but it isn't as obvious a pressure because you don't see that bad, evil number creeping upwards :) .

I play with Civilians, which is more or less auto AIP.

I *still* play slower than I would like, but an additional 40 AIP before the first cross planet attack does encourage significant changes in my play.

Of course, cluster map type with one Golemite AI and no superweapons tends to make finding and reaching some of the Civilians... difficult. I'm trying to resist my Fallen Spire backup option, but my first accidental Armored Golem made me break down and get an outpost as well as a game restart. Note: Plasma Siege and Heavy Bombers aren't *that* great against golems, silly tooltips.

AIP increase means your economy matters more, usually you can just sit back and wait for your econ to pump out whatever you want no matter how slowly.
