Poll: Which AI modifiers/plots do you use?

As with the minor faction poll the point is to identify exceedingly unpopular options and maybe brainstorm what can be done about them. Just vote for all that you include in your games, even if only rarely.

The only one I will never use is Nuke Command. I don't like warheads and wouldn't ever use them. I don't really like the Nuke Eye ... guess I have to live with that one though.

Opened your save. My computer wept. Switched to the ST planet and ship icons filled my screen, so I zoomed out. Game told me that it _was_ totally zoomed out. You could seriously walk from one end of the inner grav well to the other without getting your feet cold.

Generally I use trains on one AI and beachheads on the other.

Just hybrids and advanced hybrids for this one.  I like the challenge it adds to the game, even though it's fairly straightforward and dealt with the same way every time (Bombers).

The champion is pretty good at chewing hybrids up and spitting them out again.

Cue 100 Mk. IV maturity hybrids all swarming the champion at once. :)

Advanced Hybrids are a must.

I like the Reveal Random AI Types since I want to know from the get-go what I'll be needing to combat the AI's special stuff.

Beachheads keep me on my toes, I like them.

Schizo waves are something that I occasionally enable.

I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Reveal random AI types, AI progress over time and Avengers are always a must for me. Hybrids occasionally get enabled (either both of them or none at all). I don't use any fo the others.

Things I didn't vote for:

Schizo Waves - straight up cheesing the AI.  I can't recall the last 10/10 that wasn't beaten using this option.

Half/Double Waves - I like the current pacing

Nuclear Command - Too annoying

No Waves - I fail to see the point

No Wave Warnings - I might try this out some day, although I think a "Reduced Waves Warnings" might get more play

CPW - Again, I like normal waves, and this just feels like cheese to me, although with threat fleets, maybe not

Astro Trains - Need a rework, until then they are ignorable

Beachheads - Hate the name, it doesn't reflect what they do.  Otherwise they seem too annoying.  I'd like the AI to have better tools for breaking whipping boys, but this is just too extreme.  If I knew when they were coming, it would be better, even if the spawn rate was upped.  Right now I bring in my fleet, no Beachhead.  Again and again, until finally, hours later, one finally shows up.  Drags the game out.

I dont quite think I've seen schizo waves called cheesing the AI before.

How exactly do you figure?

Hi.

I don't think Schizo is easier after the occasional-mono-wave change. Whatever nasty ship the AI has comes at you every single wave.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

How exactly do you figure?

Schizo waves force non-homogenity in the attacking waves 75% of the time.  So you get a mix of bomber/fighter/frigate/bonus1/bonus2... etc.  So, every one of your turrets has a 'prime target' to beat on for its multipliers.  With mono-waves, 1/3 to 1/2 of your turrets are going to be doing minimal damage the entire wave.

Add this to Cross Planet Waves and the waves show up piecemeal.
... and then we'll have cake.

As other have shown (2000 Bombards), critical mass with certain ships can hurt.  A Schizo wave doesn't have that.  A mono wave absolutely can.  Glad to see there is at least one mono wave 10/10.  I think I missed that it was mono when I was reading, I just assumed Schizo since that's what they all seem to be.
