It certainly is.  I suppose that's a bit too literal of an answer, but it's the first thing that came to mind and is pretty interesting.  Photosounder (linked from there) expands on the idea a bit.

It's VERY possible. You can rather easily send photos and images as sound over radio (And plenty of people do).

I do have an old laptop lying around with a serial port and acoustic modem. 250 MHz of RAW POWER BABY!
