I could send you the unadulterated logs, but I have a feeling that it's not actually a problem, just an anomalous result that is within the bounds of accepted normality.  Rare and weird, but valid.
I agree.

In any case, the wave did make us piss off a raid engine guard post.  I didn't see it happen, but I suspect that the leech starship  (and/or the parasites) reclaimed an etherjet, which yoinked something through the wormhole (which was adjacent to the AI homeworld).

So.  Good tactics. ^..~

I see I am the only one (so far) to think they are just right. It is now painful, but not impossible to operate in AI territory.

I would still prefer other solutions to it being too easy to run about the galaxy, but reinforcements feel right, now.
If warheads can't solve it, use more warheads.

Well it shouldn't be painful but challenging.

I find it fairly close to ideal for Fallen Spire with Exo waves but no normal waves. That is how I normally play, but I certainly can see that without those nice ships and normal waves to be quite a lot for players. I think it might need a small tweak, maybe extend the time between reinforcement cycles? I do see a very large number of ship appear on each one after all.

[Got to go, so this is sparse. Will elaborate another time]

Threat seems way to simple right now.

It builds on a single planet till it comes out.

I'd rather threat be strategic and not just tactical.

So from time to time a portion of threat tries to poll on a single planet, then pushes out. This way entrenchment doesn't occur, and the ai is more threatening since it is far less easy to control.
Life is short. Have fun.

It should be painful on 10/10, where I am playing right now.

I have not noticed a threat level/reinforcement change in the 7.x range.   Which is to say, the threat I've been dealing with is my own fault.

Err, this is tangentially related.

10/10 diff game, first CPA lauched at 6 hours 30 minutes.

144 ships? WTF?

I have advanced logging enabled, what files do I need to copy paste for you to look at?

(Will mantis once I have the correct files.)

I did not even have to look at your AAR to guess that you still had one system at 6:30. Pretty sure 144 ships is an acceptable CPA at 10 AIP :D

I dunno, on a 10/10 game I was playing, I had a 1000 ship CPA launched at me while I only had one planet.

It was actually only 100 or so, since the AI didn't have 1000 to begin with, but 24 of them were Mk V Zenith Bombards.

Actually, good point.

AIP was 10 when I got the notice and 17 when the wave released. I popped the command station in the second system I am capturing during the 15 minute window.

Looking back, I guess this is the lowest AIP I've ever had a CPA at.

Maybe the calculation needs a tweak then? 114 ships is smaller then the waves getting thrown at me which are about 130-150 ships usually.

I won't complain, I did not even add any extra defences to deal with it and it just kind of vanished.

Just seemed kind of pointless with how small it was.

Well, in my 10/10 I get waves of 2000-8000 and CPAs of 1000-1500, at 150-200 AIP. They are kind of underwhelming beacuse they don't scale as much with difficulty, but they are still pretty scary  :)
