SOTS definitely sounds cool, I have to say -- I've seen it around on Impulse and so forth, but have not yet played it myself.

And the idea that AI War could be the "sequel" to it, or it the prequel of AI War, is really cool and interesting, haha.  It's very funny that they have sort of the "before scenario" that can lead in your loss to the AIs like that, and then I've got the aftermath scenario.  Very interesting indeed.

If you looking for bloggers to do reviews of the game, I would personally recommend Shamus Young. He has a non-trivial following. He has done a good number of reviews before and I think he writes the most complete, honest, and well written reviews anywhere. http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/

Man, as hard as I try, I can't get into SOTS, I bought the ultimate package, pretty much on a whim when it was released, and I still haven't even finished a single game. Something about it just throwsme off :'(

Thanks for the tip!  I checked out his blog, and it looks awesome.  I've sent him an email, so we'll see if it's up his alley.  I'm always looking for new places to review the game, blogs or otherwise. :)

Mhh i have never heard of that blog :D

x4000 when you have time try sending blue (from bluesnews.com) a mail to see if he lists your 1.201 patch in a separate news entry.  ;D Lotsa hardcore gamers on bluesnews.com - though many critical ones as well.

There are SO many different gaming sites, many of which have a huge following, and many of which I have never heard of.  A lot of them are regional or international or whatever.

Yeah, I sent a press release to there, we'll see if he posts it!  They had a couple of small blurbs about the game in the past.

Yeah i do hope blues covers it - at least that would bring some more attention from hardcore gamers...

Theres soooo many blogs.. I just couldn't imagine writing to each of them a mail to get my game reviewed... that must be a lot of hassle.. and then they may even bash it or write grammatical nightmares..

Yeah, that would definitely be really nice. :)

I think I have contacted over 80 different sites about reviews for the game so far in the last few months.  About 20-25 have responded, and not all of them have actually posted yet.  It's one of those things where being an indie just means there's a ton of legwork.  And some might bash it or write a review that is not the most professional, but that just comes with the territory, unfortunately.

Shamus loves reviewing indie stuff by the way :)

Oh, good.  Well, I hope he'll be interested in AI War -- anyone who does such a good writeup of Silent Hill 2 is an awesome blogger in my book!

Speaking of good Silent Hill 2 reviews...

You could try to get Yahtzee in on the review thing, but I have a feeling everything he does review pays him quite the sum of money these days. It would be definitely a harsh review, but tons of people would see it and hopefully pique some interest SOMEWHERE, I mean look at his review for EVE, he pretty much based it to pieces, but CCP sponsored the whole thing.

Whew, that was a lot of information in not much time.  It looks to me like he gets lots of requests for reviews, given his contest thing.  I'm not sure that I really want to submit to someone like that, though, because he's just going to look for things to rip apart more than anything else, I get the feeling.  It's not my sort of thing.

Yeah, I agree, he's way more mainstream, and therefore expecting a AAA production values in every facet of the game, and if AI War is lacking in anyway he will definitely write about it. So he may put off way more people than he attracts. I was just throwing it out here all the same, in the offchance you hadn't heard about him.

I could lookup some amateur reviews and link em to you if that's what you would like. By amateurs I mean people that have some sort a following, but are still pretty much just younger people trying to make some sort of living off Youtube while making no money at all from it, hoping to make get the big break.

I don't even consider him for reviews. I just watch him because he's funny. He sucks at reviewing.

True that. He is just a show or whatever, and not quite a reviewer exactly. Kinda like a caricature of a review or something.
