New low price for The Zenith Remnant ($9.99 instead of $12.95)

As of yesterday, the price of the first expansion to AI War has been lowered to $9.99 instead of $12.95.  This was done for a variety of reasons, mostly that $9.99 makes it a bit easier for people to pick up the game without feeling like they are digging too deeply into their pockets.

For those people who preordered it at the higher price, you should have seen a credit come back to you for the difference between the old price and the new -- I was waiting to announce this until that process was completed.

I am just slightly confused about what this covers; the "Zenith Remnant" is still incomplete, right?  Meaning, paying for this pays for the official release?

Basically, the expansion is currently incomplete but is slated for release in very early January.  People can preorder it now, to get access to the full alpha/beta versions as they come out, rather than waiting for the official release.  People who preorder get the same official version as anyone else when it comes out, of course, as well.

In the meantime, those who just want to check out the upcoming features for free can do so in trial mode (also covered on the page above), so that they can offer commentary if they are so inclined without it costing them anything.

If we buy the expansion directly from you once the final version is released on steam will we be able to use our product key to add our copy to steam(I prefer if at all possible to get games on steam over any other platform that way everything is in a central location, but at the same time now that I know you get a larger cut from buying it directly than through steam I would rather do it that way as to give your company more profit.)

Also so far I have really enjoyed the pre-release of the expansion, but the Zenith Bombardment ships seem pretty overpowered at the moment but I imagine once more ships get added they will even out some. But I literally built all 109(I used cheats to build them fast because of the 1 hour limit) or so (mark 1-3, no mark 4) and I could just move them to the center of a enemy base and take out every turret and enemy ships in less than 30 seconds.

Yes, though maybe not immediately on launch. As was the case with the initial Steam launch, it took a few days for keys purchased through other publishers to become compatible with the Steam client.

Great to hear you're enjoying the prereleases. Note that the Zenith ship balancing is in the very early stages right now, and expect them to be rebalanced regularly until release based on valuable feedback such as yours. I don't imagine they'll be quite as powerful as they are now upon final release.
