Perhaps automated is a bad word. I don't want them to build automatically, but I do want to see the mechanism by which we place them change. Using ALT and SHIFT is OK, but I do sometimes get the awkward placements.

Perhaps I just like the idea of quickly designating an area for "Minefield" status with a mouse and a quick click-drag, rather then build minefields in the same way as I do other ships. Minefields would not be placed where I didn't want them, and I don't think this kind of automation would be kinda pointless. I would still have to say where I wanted them built; the difference is instead of building a certain number until I have about the area I wanted filled up, I just say "I want this area to be a minefield", and let it work. I think this is not automation, but removing unnecessary micro.

EDIT: on second thought, I can see how the line between automation and removing micro can be blurry.

Well, remembering what the perfect circles of evil perma mines looked like, what I'm guessing you want is a build option to build mines in a perfect circle around a worm hole, X layers of mines deep.  Right?  So maybe have it as a build template.  Arc build is hella hard to use right, or at least I find it to be so.

My nomination is:
Easier transport loading mechanics http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,5259.0.html (Fleet, et. all)

No, we want to build them in lines.  AI ships don't pop out of wormholes in a circular fashion the same way player ships do.

Well, they sort of do sometimes.....  But player ships don't always pop out in all directions either.  It depends if the ships have another destination to go to already queued up (such as the command station, or a rally point), or if they are getting clustered too much.  If you have grav turrets, I have seen some of my mines on the back sides of wormholes getting destroyed...

However instead of an Auto placement... I have noticed the quirkiness of the placing of these fields. I have a green opening, so I click it. instead it bounces away. So i can't place them where I i'd like them to be clustered up.

However if I start fresh and manually place them, I can get them tightly nit like I want them. *shrugs* so i'm not sure exactly if its the random placement of the Shift + Alt placements intervening.

So I guess Perhaps some form of compacting our fields tightly together I suppose would be nice. But then again that means the comps will have to get something in favor of perhaps having no way through all those mine fields. So I am still against this as another bonus for us. XD

As ideally... it would be manually placed if this wasn't a game. o.O So as such I believe in the fact that if you want them to be amazing fields. Make them yourself and give yourself something to brag about when a fleet jumps in and gets squashed. XD

my super awesome minor faction/two ships/storage container multisuggestion. basically it's like some crazy awesome hyperdimensional faction. the ships can be acquired via an AI storage container like the zenith one, except its a black monolith like the oddysee one.

Lazer Grid Turret - Link - Fox Soul

I dug through my old idea suggestions I made.
Found this one and am curious how it will turn out.

Visual wave multiplier indicator -- http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6758.0.html

Not sure if this needs / is deserving of a poll item since Chris already suggested he'd do something similar, but posting for feedback on appearance, how prominent it should be, implementation ideas etc.

Super Fancy Grenade Explosion (used by Flak Turrets / Grenade Launchers / Others)

-> http://www.arcengames.com/forums/index.php/topic,6850.new.html (by eRe4s3r) ;P

Not sure i have to nominate this, but maybe others agree that the flak explosion is the ugliest thing you ever have seen and needs replacement ;)

Easier Building on Allied Planets.

Driving me nuts on having to send mobile builders everywhere, and a "allow team control" node doesn't help because you still cannot take ships from another player, ie. energy.

If the intent is to prevent trolling, you can self-destruct allied ships...

Minor fixes:
Military command station description:
"...the higest mark version provides..."

"Cannot use wormhole" tag for all II/III command stations.
- What does it do?  Is this a correct attribute?
I'd take a sea worm any time over a hundred emotionless spinning carriers.

Noticed it's a tad late, did you?  ;) Probly will put it together tonight or tomorrow.

I actually downloaded the lastest release patch and played a bit last night, and thinking about upgrading to prerelease. It's been awhile since I've played and the amount of changes is staggering! Cant stay away for too long though.  :)
