Okay, who touched the Blade Spawners? Hard?

Yea, They deal ALOT of damage now with the computer damage. I realize the guns where changed to help with how the AI handled them, but they are hitting quite hard now. In multiplayer games when you get 25 of these a wave, they can eat through 10 shields really quick even without the fact that they spawn BLADES, which are probably the single hardest thing to fight in the hands of the computer. There really strong now, and I've wiped on these guys several times now. So, raising discussion :P

Relevant strategy forum post.

I wouldn't mind seeing their guns get toned down a little, but gravity turrets pretty much neuter these things. The general set up is a gravity turret, a bunch of missile turrets to shoot at the spawners themselves from long range, and a few flak turrets to blow up the blades as they come into range.

25 of those in a wave sounds quite much if there are lots of other ships about. I haven't personally had any trouble with them since they patched blade spawners. Haven't come across many AI's that use them though.

The next patch will make siege starships also stronger against these (in effect, anyhow).

Oh interesting.

And we make extensive use of grav turrets :P The Blade Spawners at Mark III hit for 300,000, which when tied to the fleet ate their way through everything.
