Nuke Mk 3 on 1 difficulty.

Saw it mentioned on the forums a couple of days ago, and figured it would be interesting.

As such, I have decided to have a go at it.

Snake, 10 planets, high cap, my bonus unit is Laser Gats, and I'm against a Extreme Raider and Backdoor Hacker.

I plan to set the nuke off, and see how deadly the waves are at 5000. AIP, and to see if I can possibly win. (Read: No.)

At the moment, building up my forces to see how many planets I can stomp before I start the construction.

I attempted this shortly ago. Energy will be the critical issue, you're capped at 30,000. Fleet ships are destroyed, even in transports when the nuke goes off so only golems, starships and mk. V ships will survive. I only made it as far as I did because of the hive golem and Mk. V Blade spawners. If it weren't for the command station's blade attack immunity I would have made it, but unfortunately no.


If you find any Mk. V Fabs, capture them ASAP. With the 10 planet map you're at a disadvantage because the first AI attack (it comes as soon as the nuke detonates, usually. At least it did for me.) will arrive very quickly, I had a forward base established so the distance from me to them was shorter than the distance from them to me.

If you can take out even the first command station, that's really good. Also, do NOT CAPTURE ANY GOLEMS, except for of course any Hives you find. Artillery, Armored and Cursed might do acceptably against AI Command worlds, but a Hive golem eats up all the guard posts in seconds. If you use it to kill all the posts then use a cursed or Artillery (You will only have the energy to keep a single golem powered at a time and no more than two owned total since they consume energy in low-power as well.) to kill the command station you might make it.
I can already tell this is going to be a roller coaster ride of disappointment.

Yeah, I've noticed that the lack of power is a major issue. I might have to take out a home planet to get enough.

Of the planets I've scouted so far, I've found 3 ARS, an Advanced Factory, a Decoy Fabricator, 1 Armoured Golem, 2x Botnet Golems, 1x Black Widow Golem. Still 3 planets to check though.

EDIT: Got one planet further. Wow.

Mk 1 planet, ARS, Artillery Golem, Hive Golem, 2x Regen Golem, Armour Rotter Fab, Blade Spawner Fab, Speed Booster Fab, Mirror Fab, 2x Spider Fab, 1x Beam Ship Fab, Bomber Starship Fab, Youngling Commando Fab, Advanced Factory.

If that isn't the best planet I have ever seen, I hate to think of what is.

EDIT 2: First wave incoming. Very dangerous one, 61 Mk 1 fighters.

Hate to double post. Set off the nuke, AIP currently at 5.8k.

Been waiting 20 minutes but no waves yet. Quite disappointing.

EDIT - Just lost. To carriers being sent through, no waves.
Saw absolutely no waves since I set off the nuke.

I think it was the 1 difficulty.

It is either a really, really long time between waves or they might actually be disabled on difficulty 1.

There are still waves, but yes, long delays inbetween.
