Hey. I quickly put together a nice list of about 80 or so existing stars (if they were binary systems and such, they were not repeated for each star.) I figure you guys may like it for some sort of "authenticity" (Despite the fact that wormholes would probably crisscross the whole galaxy)

Sorry for double posting, but I realize this list is pretty skimpy. I was hoping that I could find a huge list of nearby stars to add some variety. If anybody knows how I can go about finding one, please respond to this topic.

Well, if its allowed to post a link to another game site, here's a list with over 7000 (veeeery many authentic) star names :D
(you have to download it, its just a .txt though, or heck i'll just post em here)
edit: seems i cant haha, The message exceeds the maximum allowed length (20000 characters).

I dont know how it works in this game, but based on your own post i suppose you could just take that .txt and somehow incorporate it into this game?
I'd very much like to know how =)

Posting links to other sites is no issue at all.

In your AI War directory you'll find a file called altplanetnames.txt (If it's not there for any reason you can create it). Simply fill this file with the names you want the game to use, with each planet name on a new line. The game will then use the names next time you generate a map.
