Economic breakdown of income vs. expenditures per star-system?
« on: September 20, 2013, 03:31:26 pm »
Is there a convenient way to see how much I am gaining/losing economically in each star system on the warp map? I'm considering taking some more territory that I will then have to fortify, but I'm not sure I'm going to turn a profit from this if my defenses get too elaborate. Is there a way to get a breakdown saying "you are gaining this much x but losing this much y from holding this system." So I know that I am, for example, still showing a profit of metal but losing a given amount of crystal from holding the system?

You can see the total amount of metal, crystal, and energy produced by a planet on the map just by hovering over it.   Pretty much any cost spent fortifying a planet is spent immediately.  There are very few continuous costs that exist for maintaining a planet except maybe the warp jammer command station, so generally more planets = more resources no matter what.

Well first of all.. when you have opened the galaxy map you can see the amount of Resource Asteroids by pressing R. Crystals with C and Metals with M. And as Orelius said: "You can see the total amount of metal, crystal, and energy produced by a planet on the map just by hovering over it.". You can also click the "STATS" button in bottom left corner and go to the "Economy" tab. Though that doesn't work if the game is paused so unpause first and keep the game going at 1x speed. It will show income and outcome in real time.
